We had lunch at Hatsuhana.
We each had a Shokado
Shokado 1:
Chicken Teriyaki, Tempura, Grilled unagi eel, Califonia roll (6pc), fruit with green salad and miso soup
Shokado 2:
Maguro sashimi, Tempura, Grilled unagi eel,
fruit with green salad, miso soup and rice
We asked them to swap the eel for salmon which they did.
We shared the different things in each Shokado and enjoyed everything except the maguro.
There were several japanese groups enjoying the food which we also took as good sign and suggesting that the food was probably authentic.
They also had a good wine list.

Dinner here was far below expectations. The overall restaurant is very outdated and the food itself was very disappointing. No truly special sushi rolls and also missing some of the staples (i.e. spicy scallops). 2 of the spicy tuna roll pieces couldn't even be eaten due to a poor piece of tuna. Seafood dishes (shrimp, scallops, lobster tail) were all overcooked and very chewy. The wine list leaves a lot to be desired as well. Chardonnay is the only option of white wine. Very overpriced for what you are getting.

Went there for dinner and was utterly disappointed. Three of the items that we wanted to order were not available. The rolls were fine but nothing extra-ordinary. We ordered some jumbro shrimps and it was literally covered in mayonnaise - hardly any shrimp ! Soft shell crab was also very bland. All in all it was a disappointing dinner that cost us $50. We have been to Japan a few times and this is definitely not authentic Japanese.

Would avoid going here.

So good we went twice in one week during vacation. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Several premium sakes to choose from, and why not when you're staying on property, not driving?

Located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Hatsuana offers nicely prepared Japanese dishes ranging from sushi to noodles. The sushi is artfully prepared and presented. The ingredients are fresh. The wait staff are attentive. During my annual visits to Hawaii, I try to make at least one stop at Hatsuana
