“The Best Greek Food on Oahu”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Had driven by the place many times, and was pleasantly surprised. Everything is quite informal, and outside seating is available. Sort of reminds me of a cafe you'd see in the Cyclades, without a view of the water. Menu is simple and good value. Greek salad and tabouli are tasty, as well as the fish and lamb dishes. I was surprised to be able to chat with the owner who advised on what to order on that day. You can bring your own wine (no corkage fee). If you forget your bottle, there's a wine store next to the restaurant.

“First and LAST visit!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We visited Olive Tree on a Sunday at around 5:30pm. It was very busy and we stood in a line of about 5 people ahead of us. We were very fortunate to find a table for the 4 of us. It was a continuous line of people coming in to the restaurant and many with take out orders. We waited and waited and waited! Then we saw people who ordered AFTER us get their orders. We asked about our order and they said "few more minutes" and we still saw more people get their orders that ordered after us! We finally stood up again to ask and they said "a minute more!" Unbelievable! I understand that it is busy, but even a simple "SORRY for the wait" or "sorry we missed your order" or some apology??? But none was given! Some courtesy would be appreciated. Very very disappointed. Will not recommend and will NOT return!!

“fresh and delicious”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

A real gem of a place in Honolulu in a neighborhood that appreciates its fresh food, always delicious, friendly atmosphere. Savas does a wonderful job with this eatery, as well as with the little wine shop that he runs next door. Order your food, get your wine, enjoy! I order the mussels, fava beans, Mediterranean salad, falafel, baklava. Haven't had a bad dish here.

“Decent Greek Food”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

Very crowded and tables are scarce. The food is good but when there are crowds its not worth the wait and lack of ambiance. Better to get take out.

“The food is everything!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

Atmosphere, well sort of, busy intersection aside large mall, hidden, actually. One stands in line (believe me, there's almost always a line) then you order dinner. Hopefully by the time they've called your food up, you will have snagged a table. Once food in front of you, all else fades away. It's simply delicious clean good Mediterranean food! Worth the line & peculiar energy of bustling Honolulu trying to get a good meal before heading home from work.
