Gyu-kaku near Ala Moana center offer a cozy, yet a hidden gem on Kapiolani Blvd in the Black field Building. They have early specials throughout the day and night! some run from five thirty to six thirty while other run from nine pm till closing. You set menus to choose from lunch time range from six ninety-five to seven ninety- five. You have choose of meats to choose from are chicken yuzu, basil, teriyaki,, beef, pork and seafood like shrimp, scallops and oysters. Have excellent mores on the chocolate as a dessert and green ice creme. There set menus during lunch include one meat item, soup, side of salad and rice which are refilled and give all refreshing feeling to they serve oolong TEA teas as oppose to green tea as a complementary but you need to ask for it. You'll definitely get bang for your buck, they also have large portions meat special all day even if they not a set menu. Drink also have happy during lunch and dinner. Good to call ahead and make an reservation, often there is a wait -line.

“Great AYCE restaurant, hope they still have it!”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Review is little old but i am reviewing the restaurant when they had the AYCE menu.

Wifey and I opted for the Lunch AYCE for 29.95. It was an awesome deal as we filled ourselves up with unlimited filet Mignon, bistro harami, garlic shrimp, shiba beef...(so many to name off). Anyways with AYCE, you also get the bibiobap, garlic fried noodles, butter potato, etc.

Just try everything on the ayce menu, they are all good. My personal favorite was the garlic fried noodles, and bistro harami. The server was very attentive....overall a great experience however a little smokey itself....due to all my fatty pork i was cooking

“Sauces overpowering”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Unique dining experience where we had to grill our food on a grill built into the center of the table. Cooking our own food on a grill with uneven heating and poor lighting was a little challenge and time consuming (two hour dinner). One good thing about the grill is it sucks in all the smoke and steam into the table so it doesn't get into your eyes. Twelve year old had a great time cooking his meats. Party of 9 = $400.

Good: Cheese won ton.
Bad: The sauces for the beef and chicken overwhelm the meat.
