“Great view but food was ok”
Reviewed August 29, 2014

Went here because it was where one of the places everyone said to go. We were here with 10 other couples and they were able to sit us very quickly. The restaurant sits directly on Waikiki Beach so it offers a superb view. The atmosphere is great as well as the service. We all order drinks and the price and taste of them was what we were paying and getting everywhere else. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. The salad bar was very good. I ordered a steak and was not at all impressed. I judge a steak by deciding if I need to coat it with some steak sauce. The steak I received needed steak sauce. It was dry, tough, and not very tasty. Now saying that I probably could of asked for a different steak and would have gotten it, but I was with a large group and didn't want to hold them up. Other party members who got steak had the same experience. Those who got the fish liked it. There was a group of Hawaiian women going around playing and singing to the tables, They played Hawaiian songs and added to the atmosphere.

“Great food right on the beach”
Reviewed August 29, 2014

We have been here several times. You really need to make reservations or you will be waiting for a while, but it is worth it. The food is excellent, and the salad bar is amazing (fills the whole room). The staff are really friendly, and they have a musical trio that strolls around playing Hawaiian tunes.

“Best steak ever!”
Reviewed August 29, 2014

My daughter & I wanted to splurge on our last night in Waikiki before she started at school. We requested a table with a view and were willing ot wait the hour and a half quoted. Luckily, there's plenty of shops nearby to wander through. We both ordered the filet and quite honestly, it was th ebest steak we've ever had (we always thought Ruth Chris was the best). The salad bar was incredible. Our only regret was that we were too full for the hula pie, which we have been told by many that we missed the best part. Although the steak is over $30, the fact that the salad bar and a side dish are included and that the steak is so well seasoned and melts in your mouth, made it well worth it! The ambiance also added to the evening with the Hawaiian singers and the view.
