“Good quality menu in mid-price range”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

We ate here on our first night as it was at our hotel the Outrigger on the Beach. We were relatively lucky to get in as we turned up at 5.30 and were asked to come back at 5.45 at which time we were put on standby and given a buzzer which rang when a table became free. Just after we turned up other people came along and were told to come back at 8.45pm. They only take very limited pre-bookings so they can also keep tables available for walk-ups. Another day I tried to make a dinner reservation in the morning but was told all bookings were taken other than 4.30pm or after 9.30pm and so we tried walk-up again. This time we had to wait a little longer but again we were lucky to get in within about 20 minutes. This probably tells you something about the popularity of the place.
Service was very friendly and quite prompt. There is an all-you-can-eat salad bar for $17.95, good value, includes bread roll and muffin, fresh fruit and the salad variety is good. Drinks are extra. You can have the salad bar on it's own or you can add an a la carte dish and the salad bar is included with it. The first night we ordered a la carte. We both had the Huli huli Chicken dish which was sooooo tender and tasty. We were planning to try the Hula pie but after the meal we were so full we decided to save it for another occasion. Dinner for two including drinks and tax was $54.87USD. We came back with a "plan" - this time we just had the salad bar (cheaper!) and then had room for the famous Hula Pie. Yes it was good, but it is basically ice-cream, macadamias and hot chocolate fudge. The "Impact" is more to do with the size of the serving though - one serve will do 2 people, easily.
A day or so later we had a strange pending transaction on our credit card which we thought may have had something to do with Dukes so we went back and spoke to the Manageress who was very polite and helpful and very willing to accept responsibility if we had been mischarged. However it turned out the transaction came from another source, but I'm sure had there been a problem they would have fixed it.

“You will love eating here! ”
Reviewed May 25, 2014 via mobile

Dukes is located on Waikiki Beach; right on Waikiki Beach. The patio seating is used by sunbathers at off times, when the restaurant doesn't need the room. Dukes provides you with a breathtaking view of both the beach and also Diamondhead. When it comes to good food, they don't let you down. The "all you can eat breakfast buffet" is one of the best that you will ever eat. They have three different buffet lines set up that have just about anything you could ask for. They also have a grill cook that will make omelets to order. The price is $17.95, which includes your drink. The only negative thing we can say about eating here is the long lines waiting to get inside. I would recommend getting there before the rush. You will love it! We did!

“Amazing Fish Tacos & Views”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

Ok, first off -- get here early. If you are going for lunch it is best to get here around 11 or 1130 because it gets totally packed. An early arrival will also get you prime seating, but the views of Waikiki and the surfers can't be beat. I got the blackened fish tacos and they were fantastic. They use swordfish which I was skeptical about, but they were really great. The service is also amazing -- thanks Justin! And it almost appeared the busier they got the service got faster. A great Waikiki landmark that shouldn't be missed.

“an hawaii paradise”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

Went to this beautiful restaurant in May after it was recommended to us by a work mate,
a must go to place in Hawaii just for the experience of it all. The cocktails were amazing,
almost too good to drink, just loved looking at them!!! The food was beautiful, we had a helping
hand by our friendly waitress in choosing the right meal, we weren't dissapointed at all.
Would recommend a visit to take in all the surroundings of this popular eatery.

“Lovely position”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

I enjoyed a lovely buffet breakfast on my 50th birthday morning. We were seated right at the beachfront, service was excellent, staff very helpful and accommodating, and the food was really good. Pancakes were delightful.
