The best .... ever! The only place to get them on the Leeward side is from the truck in the Waikele Shopping center! You might have to wait in line, but they are worth it!

Got a tip before our trip to try this place for breakfast stop. While standing in line to place my order got to chatting with a local and asked for his reccomendation on what to order. He suggested just getting the original with sugar or the cinnamon sugar. Good advice for sure.

Now I can tell you to try the same. Served to you as cooked to order, hot, light, fluffy and oh-so sugary! I didn't realize how big they were and over ordered by several but even those didn't go to waste. We had them heated up the next morning.

I tried the coconut and custard filled but wasn't as entranced with either as compared to the planer original.

They are lighter than a regular donut and I think the best part is that each is served hot and fresh. Nothing sitting in the counter to be pulled out hours later and passed of as "fresh" here.

Fresh-baked, piping hot, fresh from the oven, no matter what time you get there. You never have to worry about getting any malsatas that have been sitting there for hours. I got an assortment of 6, and loved every one of the different fillings.

Donuts are something you have to be in the mood for. These are not donuts and after reading the reviews we decided to check out when we were in the area. These are delish! I can see how people can eat several of them. So light and not too sweet. Generous, tasty fillings. The plain were actually our favorite. You have to check these out.

In researching good eats in Hawaii, Leonard's was at the top of the list. We've never had malasadas before so we were eager to try them. The clerk at Safeway across the street even recommended them. Luckily, Leonard's was close to our hotel. Since most of the reviews said the parking was difficult and we were still on California time we went early (6:00 am). Parking wasn't a problem and there wasn't a line. We wanted to try every flavor of malasada but settled for plain, chocolate, lilikoi (passion fruit which was the flavor of the month), and coconut. We didn't care too much for the chocolate but everything else was delicious. We bought enough to last a few days because if we didn't, we would have been there every day! Tip: go there early if you can especially if you are from the mainland and haven't adjusted to the time difference.
