Description: Designed around its breathtaking view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, 53 By The Sea offers you the opportunity to experience Hawaii dining like never before. Delight at Chef Thomas Ho’s artistry as he combines fresh local ingredients with succulent seafoods and the finest hand-cut meats. Just as exquisite are the melodic sounds of local pianists playing on the Italian made Fazioli piano in the adjacent T’s at 53 lounge, featuring wines and spirits from around the globe. 53 By The Sea is truly a celebration for all the senses!

We had a large gathering hoping to enjoy the best and most memorable dinner. The food at the 53 by the Sea was real skimpy. The steak was three bites, all of the 4 oz. The service is nightmare. My husband waited for one full hour plus ten minutes for the drink, The taste is bland. The waitress has an attitude problem. The soup is lousy. This restaurant deserves a one star. One of our VIP guests actually WALK OUT after taking one single taste of the entree. One of our worst dinner experience.

We shared a '53 by the sea' birthday celebration at lunch. We enjoyed the food selection as well as the wonderful service. Would highly recommend this restuarant for special occasions.

We visited 4 days after they opened for business and enjoyed a delicious meal! We were happy to receive excellent service and thought we might experience some startup hiccups but that never happened. We began dinner with the 53 Showcase appetizer a concoction of lobster and several varieties of seaweed and poke..delicious. Our bench seat faced Diamond Head with a spectacular gazillion $$ dollar view at sunset. Yummy buttery garlic toast to munch, entree of spaghettini fruitti di mare was scrumptious and the flavor of the sauce memorable and worth going back again. The dessert eggplant chocolate custard was a unique treat and unlike anything we have enjoyed before!! They have an extensive wine list too. They offered to take our photo on their grand staircase...much like the one in Gone With the Wind! They waved goodbye to us as we left like we were celebrities..

Gorgeous building parked on one end of the Ala Moana area with a great view of the ocean and the surfers. I understood that it has been renovated and it does look wonderful, with the sweeping staircase as you enter.

We went there in the early evenings with no reservations, a bunch of us wanted to hang out by the bar to catch up. We were serenaded by a wonderful pianist and the a second group with a pianist and a vocalist.

The food was rather inconsistent, crispy french fried turned out to be soggy potato wedges, but the calamari hit the spot.

Service at the bar was fun and cheerful, the bartenders Rey and Genji made the effort to make sure we are all comfortable and entertained throughout the evening.

All in all, a wonderful place to hang out and watch the darkness creep in over the ocean as the sun goes down.
