“Always Good for Dinner!”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

We have been to Lucky Belly twice for dinner and I can confidently give this Chinatown restaurant two thumbs up. We have tried almost all the appetizers and the ramen varieties and have no complaints. The Lucky Bowl, Beast Bowl and the Belly Bowl all taste amazing. We were impressed with the Beet and Spicy Greens, Lamb Lumpia, Pork Belly Bao, Lobster Shu Mai, Oxtail Dumplings, and Duck Tataki. Their beer selection is excellent, too. This place gets really crowded so we always make reservations for first dinner seating. Never had a bad meal at Lucky Belly!

“Happy Belly At Lucky Belly”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

My husband & I took the bus to Chinatown & walked to our destination, the Foster Botanical Gardens. We spent a couple hours enjoying the eclectic collection of tropical trees, palms, & orchids. We had missed lunch & were ready to eat. I had read the reviews on TA about the Asian fusion restaurant called Lucky Belly. We made it through the door just before their 2 PM closing for lunch. The server was friendly& efficient. We were quite thirsty as we hadn't had any water in about four hours. Ice water was brought to the table & was topped up during our meal.

I ordered the TEMPURA SHRIMP TACOS with Asian slaw & yuzu mayo $11. It was beautifully presented. Three tacos were stuffed with juicy firm shrimp & topped with a delicious Asian slaw.
There was a yummy side salad of baby greens. My husband had the belly bowl with noodles, pork belly, & pork sausage. $12 It was huge! We could have easily shared it.

There are other dishes on their interesting menu that I would like to try. So, we will be going back to fill our bellies at lucky Belly.

“A little out of the way but worth the taxi fare.”

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and decided to try it out. We weren't disappointed! The appetisers were heaven and all four of us chose the Belly Bowl (ramen with pork belly, bacon and pork sausage), again delicious!

“Trendy and worth every penny”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

We popped into LB today for lunch shortly after 2pm today and unfortunately their lunch service had just ended at 2pm BUT one of the servers must have recognized how hungry we were because the staff allowed us to come in for lunch and we were the only people (aside from the servers) in the restaurant for an hour which we thought was really unnecessary and gratefully appreciated. The service from the owner, bartender and great servers was remarkable and even though they had other things to do besides look after us they were cheerful and friendly and you could tell they actually enjoy their jobs and wanted to be there. The menu is very unique in a good way. We tried the lamb lumpia and the shrimp appetizers and they were excellent especially the shrimp dumplings which were not your average potstickers and really flavourful morsels with unique preparation. One of the best appetizers we've had in a long time. For our entrees we were told we had to try the ramen bowls so we had the fungi (mushroom) and belly bowl which were outstanding and massive amounts of food even for big eaters like us. The staff here are great people doing something they enjoy so it makes sense they turn out a quality product. Prices are also reasonable which also enhances the experience of eating here. I believe there is a late night window open from 10pm-2am for anybody looking for some great food after a night of bar hopping. The restaurant is a little ways from Waikiki where we were staying but absolutely worth the trek into Chinatown.
