Stayed, enjoyed the location, enjoyed the company, enjoyed the tours, enjoyed Hawaii. Didn't enjoy the breakfast, it's not breakfast they are better off dropping that comment altogether. It's run by other backpackers at length they may have a couple full time staff buts that's it. But it's hostel, it's ok, not the best but I been to far worse.

If they made more space for the suites it would better or do away with them altogether and just have dorms, the suites are too small.

But if you want a cheap hostel that's in a great location, great staff, friendly, book it, if you want more you'll pay more elsewhere and still have fun, it's your choice..

For me, it's a hostel, it's great fun, there are plenty of 5* hotels but you won't have the fun you'll have here for $20 a night.

Room Tip: It doesn't matter where you sleep, it's a hostel, just remember that.....

We had a one night layover in Hawaii going to China and needed a place to lay our head. The hotels in $100 and under looked horrible and parking was expensive so we chose this hostel. It was me and my 13 son. We booked a private room. It was in the back of a 6 bed dorm where we share the bath. The hostel was fine, was not dirty but not super clean either. Lots of nice travelers. The location was awesome! Near the beach and lots of restaurants and shops. Also the tours they do are cool and cheap. Overall the place was fine to lay your head down, but wouldn't spend a long time here.

Read alot of the negative reviews beforehand and must expect to pay $20 a night for a 5 star resort, You pay for what you get - a bed and a roof over your head! I have never travelled solo before so thought this would be a great way to start and it was a good choice! Check in was super easy and i arived hours early too which was great! $10 key deposit which you get back anyway. There are alot of free tours and group activities if your into that. North Shore tour is $20 and is a MUST DO!! Tour guide Professor - i never had time to thank you for such an amazing experience! The room i stayed in was a semi private female and then a 8 share dorm. both were great. Perfect when going solo as you get to make friends with people who also travel solo. The free wifi was fantastic as well and so helpful to research places to go but the staff are also helpful as they have tips that can save you ALOT of $$$...Bathroom facilities were normal nothing disgusting or unhygienic at all and when i arrived it was being cleaned by staff everyday anyway. Shoutout to Bob and Jake for being great staff aswell on the tour to museum, and for making me feel at ease and at home straight away. Hopefully everytime you wear our matching aloha shirts/dress youl remember the story behind it hahahaha All in all If you want to save money and your not fussy and rather spend $$$ on sightseeing, tours, shopping and want to experience Hawaii in a unique way this is a great place to start, they are flexible so if you change your mind you dont have to pay all up front, they can do it night by night, just ask and they will help :) Thanks Polynesian Beach CLub for making my first trip to Hawaii memorable!

Room Tip: Wifi on ground floor is excellent however if you like to use it in your rooms too level 2 is the bes...

This hostel is in a cracking location, situated just by Waikiki and all the hustle and bustle. They offered great tours and at $20 for a North shore trip, you can not argue with that. Lot's of different backpackers interacting with each other and having a good time. Shelly the manager was really helpful and organised in what she was doing. The other staff seemed friendly too. All the bars and clubs are just round the corner from this place.

The proximity of the hostel to the beach, bus-stops, restaurants, shopping, internet cafe, etc. is excellent.

I booked the semi-private room for 1 week but was disappointed with the layout. The access to my room required me to walk through a dorm room to my entrance and there was 1 bathroom shared between 7 people. However, the room had a large ceiling fan and windows to keep me cool throughout the evening.

The staff at the hostel made the difference. On my first night, they had organized an all you can eat dinner cooked by a professional chef. They also had a free breakast one morning as well as beer and Bratwurst another evening. There were organized trips to different areas of the island every day. I was unable to make use of the free wifi with my laptop at home so the staff assisted me with bus schedules and stops, snorkelling and hiking tips, as well Luau and Pearl Harbor suggestions. Thank you.

I stayed there for 5 nights in the studio suit. Personally I thought the place was great. There were a few things that could be better but it didnt intefer with my holiday. BAD STUFF: dripping shower tap - we closed the door. Plastic cover on matress. Not much cutlery- I went downstairs and got some, and that was about all the bad stuff i can think about. GOOD STUFF: Location, location, location, Perfect. One street away from beach, Zoo 50 meters away, bus stop 50 metres away, star bucks with free wifi around the corner, ABC store (corner shop) on the street 1 minute away. The room was massive, no dining room table however there is a bar table with chairs, Kitchen equipment was minimal but had a big fridge and microwave, a couple of large mirrors in room forn the girls to put makeup on. The hostel has tours which are $20 US for the whole day. We went to the north shore and swam where the famous banzai pipeline comp is held every winter, saw large turtles that sun on the beach and watched a beautful sunset. Went to the East coast and swam at a beautufl beach then fell asleep for an hour, was taken up top of mountain to view east side. Snorkel gear provided free. There is a laundry that you have to pay for washing and supply own washing powder. There is a community area downstairs which has free wifi.

I booked for a week solid but after seeing the place decided to only to stay for the 2 nights. Unfortunately I paid for the entire week up front and wasn't able to get any of my money back... Im assuming they get this a lot since its such a hole. It took them 30 min to book in one couple in front of me, which I think probably makes them the slowest hostel in the world. I've stayed in heaps of hostels all over the world and I think this is the worst one of come across. There isn't really a common room... A sad excuse for a kitchen with 4 two seater tables is what you have to sit around to meet people. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the pillow might as well be non existent. I felt dirty the entire time i was there. There are also signs in the bathroom saying not to get the floor wet because its " annoying", but there are no bath mats.... I was in a 4 birth room with my friend and the two of us and the two other guys we met in our room decided to pitch together and get a serviced apartment for the week just to get out of there. Also, there is no air con and theres not even a fan so be prepared to sleep in an uncomfortable dirty sweat box.

Room Tip: Choose somewhere else to stay...
