This hostel is a good option if you are looking for excelent location at an affordable price in Waikiki. The staff is very nice and friendly. The room was pretty basic but the hostel in general is good.

Free breakfast, free snorkeling equipment, really nice staff!
I'm just a little bit disappointed with the quiet hours : 11pm (everybody out!) every day.
It's really safe and it's really easy to get to know travelers from all over the world! I'll come back for sure!

Stayed in this hostel for 1 week. Its not a large hostel but very friendly. Great free breakfast and occassinaly free waffles too. Only 5 minutes walk to the beach, and you can hire boogie boards and snorkelling gear from the front dezk for free. The hostel was clean throughout and there was plenty of room to store food. Hammocks in the courtyard made for a lovely early evening catching up with other travellers working out the best places to visit whilst sipping a long board. Would recommend this hostel to those on a budget, travelling alone or wanting a place that you can chill out or get out easily to see the island.

I stayed for two nights in mid-September. Not a bad place to stay if you're on a budget and just looking for a place to rest at night. It's conveniently located just a few blocks from the beach and the main shopping areas in Waikiki. The free beach gear rentals (boogie boards, snorkels, etc) is a nice gesture, I went snorkeling one morning at Waikiki Beach. There is also a courtyard in the center with some hammocks to be lazy in on warm Hawaiian nights. The owner was there at breakfast one morning and me and a few other guests chit chatted with her. Nice lady, she suggested some nice places for us to visit around the island.

The only thing that I was a little irked about was that not all rooms didn't have lockers. I was in a dorm room (the rooms that should definitely have lockers) and just ended up having to leave my stuff behind unsecured for the day. Other than that, I was just happy to have a place to stay in Waikiki for a great price.

It is located in downtown Honolulu and there are people who live there for many months or even permanently. It is run by the owner's son and other youngsters who love parties. The hostel pantry room has everything for this purpose and they throw the parties regularly and mostly for themselves. Just keep in mind that the parties are not free for guests but you will be offered a hot dog or a hamburger for a reduced price if you hang around and have no better place to go to. Their free breakfast consists of toast with butter, jam or honey and coffee. It is served no earlier than 8:00 am. Although the line of hungry young male guests starts forming almost from 7:00 am, the breakfast is not served any earlier that 8:00 am. At 7:58 am you may hear that they "are not open yet". Since many guests leave early for the beach or a tour, they save money by opening after many have already left. The house is never full.
Unfortunately the hostel management does not have the same passion to keep the rooms, toilets and showers clean. If you want to use a clean toilet use the one by the office. They keep their own bathroom clean and well-supplied with good toilet paper, hand soap and a towel. They save a lot on electricity because there are only two places with sufficient light - the kitchen (that is where the employees love to hang out in the evenings) and the toilet. The infestation with cock roaches is enormous. There are insects absolutely everywhere in horrendous numbers. Thank God they are not tropical but the usual urban size. God knows what they carry on their legs traveling from the dirty toilets to the kitchen.
There are lockers in the rooms and it is good to have your own lock. The entrance has very reliable gates with a working intercom so the hostel has good security. The hostel has free beach equipment with beach towels that are sufficient for snorkeling, suntanning and body surfing. Parking is limited to a few unmarked spaces by the gates and costs $10 per night but no receipt is ever issued. If you are unlucky, you will be looking forever for a spot on the street.
The rooms are very hot and your sleep can be disturbed by your roommates discussing where to buy pot in the middle of the night.

Stayed there for almost a week and didn't want to leave. It is well located, a 5 min walk to Waikiki beach and lots of stuff around. Very clean as well. Met some great people there and we would stay in the hammock in the common area having beers all the time. But what is great about this hostel was its staff. The guys are just great, they will help you with anything (anything!) you might need and hang out with you all the time. Common area is up to 11.00 pm, but there seems to be some flexibility about it if you are quiet. Loved the place, would recommend to anyone!

i loved staying in seaside hostel. it is a cool place to meet new people and the rooms are very clean. there is every morning breakfast and the kitchen is very clean, wich is a really rare thing in hostels. it is in the heart of waikiki, and even if waikiki sometimes can get a bit stressful, seaside hostel is the perfect place to relax(there are hammocks!!!).
but seaside hostel wouldn't be the same without the super friendly, cool and helping staff!! and, of course, the hostel dog chipsy.
my holiday wouldn't have been the same without seaside hostel ;)
