Parking is the only challenge here as the trail is freshly repaved, so good for families with strollers too. Views are wonderful and you almost always have a fresh breeze cooling you as you climb the gentle slope. A few signs give you some useful info about the history and plant life along the way, but it’s the views that are the pay-off. Very popular for all generations as it is so easily accessable.

Wow, a free paved trail with parking! The lighthouse overlook is a little over two miles round trip winding up a fairly steep trail with no shade. It does get hot! But the trail is wide and smooth, so that children's carriages and wheel chairs are fine. Didn't see any whales on this trip, although you can see clear across to Maui.

Since this trail is paved the whole way, it's fairly easy. It is uphill but it's one of the easier hikes on Oahu. In the winter, it's a great spot for whale watching.

Paved path winds its way up the mountain to beautiful views. If you visit during the right time you may spot whales. There are benches along the way to rest, but no shade so make sure to wear a hat! According to my activity tracker I walked up 18 flights of stairs and just over 16k steps. Good workout with the reward of beautiful views!

We hike this trail every time we visit. It's paved, and has some semi-steep places, but there is plenty of space to stop and breathe. The view just cannot be beaten. Parking can be an issue - we've gotten spots near the trail head a few times, but also had to park on the highway once too. No shady spots so sunscreen for sure! Love this hike.

The hike to the lighthouse is paved but very steep. Bring water with you. The hike is very steep all the way up. Good news it is a nice walk down, still steep though.

Like Diamond Head, you don't want to be doing this walk in the middle of the day. This is a steeper climb I think than Diamond Head but there are look out's (read "rest areas") along the way. (You can climb down to some tide pools, looked like a health and safety nightmare to me, but there were people heading down there). Worth the climb, again the views are fabulous. Take some water as there is little to no shade on this walk.

Very little parking and steep walk to the top, BUT well worth the hike. Bluest water I've ever seen. Beautiful landscape.

Its an easy hike depending on your walking pace. So take your time, take 2 bottles of water (its Hot) & any snacks for energy. Go early (its cooler then) as this hike area opens at 7am. I would recommend wearing shoes not sandals. Its a paved trail / footpath so anyone who wants to walk on a even leveled path can do so. There's parking at the start but it can get busy during the day. There are no restrooms here. The trail according to the map is 1.25 miles to the lookup area which features 3 platforms. There are a few lookout points along the trail so you can rest there for while then proceed to the top area. There is no shade throughout this hike so wear a cap or hat. When you get to the top the views are spectacular. The lighthouse is located to the right side & you get a view of 2 small islands. The larger island is called Rabbit Island and the smaller one is called Kaohikaipu Island (seabird sanctuary). Enjoy your hike.

A great fully paved hike with wonderous views. Lots of historical information on signs all the way up.
