We took the trolley up, saved a fortune on the cost of an organised tour and saw exactly the same view. I would recommend visiting this bay as it is absolutely amazing, one of the highlights of my holiday . Watch out for the wild chickens

This beach was beautiful and had great snorkeling. The waters were a bit murky when we went, but I saw a lot of sea life nonetheless. Highly recommend!

This was one of our highlights on Oahu. The waters were calm and wonderful with great snorkeling. We saw an amazing variety of sea life, including some sea turtles. It's a popular place, but not so crowded so as to distract from our enjoyment. The views from the top and bottom are great. There is a nice snack bar to keep everyone fed and watered throughout the day. The staff was always helpful and friendly. If you're looking for quiet and solitude, it's probably not for you. But there's plenty of room for everybody to enjoy.

We stopped here on a tour of the island. The natural beauty all around is exquisite. Great area for photo ops.

Went snorkeling twice in Hawaii. The first time at Hanauma Beach. Was a good experience. We had our own gear. A large hill may challenge some going down to the beach but can pay $5 to get a ride back up. The fish were larger and colorful even though the water wasn't the clearest. A good experience and a good value that was better than our $90 dollar trip.

Spent the entire time in the water looking at fish. What an amazing experience. Wish I would have known to stick a few extra dollars in my pocket for a ride back up the hill.

Absolutely gorgeous spot, we were taken here on our personalised tour with The Real Hawaii.
Although a very popular spot, it is definitely worth the visit and taking to the time to go here.

Natural Bay created by some amazing volcanic activity, and allowing a diverse range of fish to live in Safety.

Steep but sealed walkway from the facilities at the car park.

Car park has the pay station, and theatre where a mandatory 9min video is shown.

Entry fee gets you access only, plus free lifeguards to monitor your safety.

You can pay extra and get a trolley down to beach, and back up.

Beach is wide and vast, with trees for shade. Several Lifeguard towers a spread along bay.

If you can go at high tide, it is best, as you get across the tops of the reef and see more fish. At lower tide you have to swim around a further distance and only see the side views.

This is a great place to learn to snorkel. Quite a few tourists here so it can be crowded. Military and their family get in free, parking at 1$ is cheap. Great views and lots of fish. Kind of like swimming in an aquarium

The volume of fish was incredible!!! Such an amazing experience for our family. Many different types of fish, and the coral was phenomenal. If coming to snorkel, please wear reef safe sunscreen, and stay off the reef to protect the wildlife.
