$7.50 a person is way to over priced for a crowded beach with hardly any sea life. I had been snorkeling on the Big Island a few years back and had always gone to small secluded beaches. There was always an abundance of fish and the colors were amazing. This beach however, was a major disappointment. Because there were so many people there the day we went and because of the "million people that visit every year", said the informational video, the water was murky, fish were sparse, and the coral was dead.
The only thing that might've made this trip better experience would be the weather. We went on a windy day in the afternoon amongst scattered showers. The water was very choppy. So maybe, if the water is calm, the sun is out, and there aren't as many people, it might be ok.

I disliked that it was crazily busy. Wasn't much room to swim, although going during Summer break will explain why it was so busy. Loved swimming along side a turtle :)

This was a nice park, no doubt. If you go at low tide though don't expect to really snorkel as it is much too shallow over the reef to swim. you spend most of the time trying not to get shredded. If you have never snorkeled before I suggest one of the lagoons on Ko Olina instead. IMO, Best snorkeling on Oahu is Sharks Cove on the north shore. Don't let the name scare you. We've been a number of times and although it is the ocean, we haven't seen any sharks;)

I guess all things are relative. We have been snorkling in Fiji, that set a high standard and spoils the game. As far as I can see, the coral here is all dead, there were a few colourful fish to see, so if you have never done this before, it could be an interesting first time expierence.

The big issue is the volume of people, the bay got really really crowded, it got to be a bit like Grand central station in rush hour - if the experience was new to someone, the crowd of people would sure spoil it for you.

Great beautiful place to visit if you like to snorkel or swim. There is a huge walk to the bottom and a very steep walk back up. There is a courtesy vehicle and off memory about $1.00 down and just over a dollar to come back to the top. We got equipment from our tour company and it was of poor quality which made it a bit hard to snorkel. Looked at then hiring it from the bay but was very expensive and then to hire a locker at the bottom was also over priced. Make sure you sign the register even if you think you wont be back because if you do and then you decide its so beautiful you want to go back you don't have to watch the movie a second time. A nice day out must do
