“Excellent small historical site in Waikiki”
Review of Father Damien Museum - CLOSED

We discovered this very small museum while walking down the street in Waikiki. I had recently read a book about the history of the leper colony on Molokai, and only realized what this was because of the names on the unobtrusive sign outside the building.
There is a history of Father Damien and Sister Maryanne, as well as others who worked on Molokai. The photos are very moving, and the stories are interesting and informative.
If you happen to be in the area, it is a place that is worth spending time in.

This museum is well worth a visit. The exhibit tells the story of Father Damien and Sister Marianne and their work with the lepers on Molokai. The museum is small but we spent well over an hour in the museum. The museum is located above an ABC store and right next the St. Augustine's church. The staff was very friendly and very informative and we willing and able to answer questions. Well worth a trip.

Small, but very moving museum depicting Father Damien's work at the Leper Colony in Molokai. Many pictures and artifacts. There is a small gift shop
