First off let me say that we've gone to Yooncy BBQ in Kapahulu on many occasions and have been satisfied to very pleased with their food and service over the last year or so. But on a Sunday night last weekend our luck ran out.
We were second in line followed by 5 or 6 other customers that placed their orders after us. After about 40 minutes of waiting in line and seeing everyone, yes everyone else receive their orders ahead of us, we were about ready to ask for a refund.
My wife's dinner was sitting on their counter for nearly 35 minutes waiting for my order to be completed. When we finally got our order, there was no apology nor thank you for having to wait. We left the restaurant and took our meals home, and that's when things got even worse.
My order of meat jun and chicken katsu was burnt and extremely dry. The portions we received were very small and not at all satisfying. I don't know if they were having an issue with the cook, but it appeared that there was a problem in the back kitchen.
After the waiting, rude uncaring service, and deplorable food, I've decided not to return to Yooncy. There are far better Korean restaurants out there including Gina's in Market City, Kim Chee II in Kaimuki, and Pearls in Kahala Mall. Sorry Yooncy but you've lost a customer and I'll be letting all of my friends know to beware.
