Do not overrate (and over pay) for ocean views. Hyatt is hexagonal in shape and some of their ocean view roooms face DIRECT west. Great for the sunset but from about 4PM unbearably hot to the point of being forced to close the heavy curtians until the sun went down. What is the point of ocean views? Best aspect is south so you have to look right to see the sunset but you do not want to be facing the sunset directly. Stayed later on at the Hilton a few blocks back with mountain views unimpeded by any building from the 32nd floor. Great. Cool in the afternoon as the sun sets on the other side of the hotel.

Aloha,

Thank you for your feedback. We regret that you felt your deluxe ocean view was spoiled by the heat from the sunlight hitting the lanai windows. We hope that for some of your visit you were able to enjoy some of the unobstructed ocean views.

Hotel was very busy when I was checking in but the staff is very friendly and amazingly helpful.
The location of this hotel is amazing with ocean view rooms. Definitely try to get one on a higher floor as the view alone is worth the price of this hotel. While the hotel is somewhat updated, there are others that are much more modern but you'll definitely pay for them. For the price this place is great. As another reviewer said, definitely try to stay away from the rooms near the lifts as the lifts are a bit noisy and would bother most.

Room Tip: Higher floors have much better views, and try to stay away from the lifts.

I like staying at the Hyatt because the rooms and lanais have privacy from each other and are far enough from other hotels. You also get great views and if you stay higher up, there is little street noise. The hotel is beautiful to walk through, with many shops and places to eat and drink. It is well-appointed as you'd expect a Hyatt to be. The pool and area is somewhat small, but usable, and you have only to cross the street to be on the beach. The location is excellent as well for Waikiki shopping and dining which you can walk. I've stayed there many times and will stay there when I return.

Room Tip: Choose a higher level room for more quiet .

The hotel treated us very well - had a really great time. The location is fantastic, the room service was quite good, and the staff was very friendly. The ocean view rooms are divine - as the high view is beautiful.

Arrived early to the hotel and we were able to leave our bags with the hotel staff. Long queue at the check-in. They let us into our rooms early thank you to the staff who were so helpful and friendly. We had interconnecting rooms and amazing views of the Ocean. I recommend having breakfast at the hotel plenty of variety to choose from. The free web check in and scales to weigh your luggage is a big help. Across the road to the beach and an easy walk to the shops. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would gladly stay there again.

Room Tip: Get to breakfast early long queues after 7.30 am

First the good parts, the hotel is grand and looks very nice. Friendly welcome and right on the beach.. perfect!
Then it all went a bit shambolic, there was a queue at reception, which is to be expected. When we checked in it seemed that our original room had been given to someone else. So we had to wait a while for it to be sorted. Whilst waiting I overheard a customer who had an issue with her room keys not working this was her second complaint about it. Another customer wanted to change his room as he was unhappy.
We finally got ourselves upstairs to find the keys didnt work and the room was right next to the lift.
Back down we went to reception and asked for another room. We were told they were fully booked but could have a room with no balcony access as building work was being done. The lady at reception was pretty disinterested.
Later once we had got into our room and realised how noisy the lift was we decided to switch. The guy at reception was lovely offered to waive resort fees and gave us a voucher for free champagne. It nearly went smoothly with our bags taken to the room for us. But of course the room keys didnt work again!
Breakfast is a rip off so dont waste your time or money. Very disinterested staff we had to ask for coffee, no top ups. Only time we saw any urgency was when they thought we were leaving without signing the check.
pool bar is nice , bar staff are really friendly.
This hotel is a shambles, badly managed and inconsistent service. We may have been spoilt as we came from Maui's Makena beach and golf resort where the people and service were exceptional. The hyatt cannot compare simply not in the same league.

My wife and I went to the Hyatt in Wakiki and let me say that this trip was amazing! The service and professionalism is a 10 out of 10! This was a trip for our honeymoon and we were given a free bottle of champagne and our room was upgraded at now cost as soon as we checked in! Beautiful views and I would highly recommend the stay here!

Room Tip: Full ocean view is the way to go-the views are ones you will never forget!
