Just returned from a great stay at the Hyatt Regency. The staff were really friendly and helpful in all the departments. Breakfast was fantastic every day and even when having to queue staff came along with glasses of juice. The bedroom had a see view as promised and was clean and well appointed. Everything about this hotel made our holiday really enjoyable. The only downside was the resort fee, something i certainly am not used to but free wifi and free international calls made up for it.

The package was good value. Thank you "My Holiday Centre" for organising everything for us , the transfers were great, the tours were great, and very well organised. But to be honest , the rooms were very dull and old, and the bathrooms need updating badly. We also had to change rooms because the first room had views of buildings , not the ocean as promised , it smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke and was so noisy because of the positioning near the main street despite being on floor 11. We upgraded to the Diamond Tower floor 22 with a much better lovely view and it was a lot quieter. The room was identical in its dated appearance. Also our room had 3 other doors very close to ours and the door noise woke us up many times. On the plus side, the rooms were clean, had a great view, were very big and the bed was comfortable. Also the My Hawaii package deal with breakfast included was fantastic value bacause the breakfast is amazing and the view from the breakfast terrace is breathtaking. The queue for breakfast was long but it did not take too long to get to the table. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Also the pool area is very small. We preferred the beach , and the pool staff were great, they give you a beach chair and towel to take .

Room Tip: choose a room away from the lifts choose a room in the Diamond Tower with full beach view choose a...

The hotel is across the road from Waikiki Beach and the facilities are clean, fresh and very well presented. Staff are wonderful and very helpful and friendly. I would stay there again and would highly recommend this hotel to other traverllers. It is in the middle of the main strip of Waikiki Beach and therefore, everything is at your fingertips.

Room Tip: I upgraded to an ocean view which was definitely worth extra - it wasn't that expensive to upgra...

We have been to Waikiki numerous times and decided to stay here since it is close to everything but not too close to all the crowds. We liked our previous stays at the Moana Surfrider and the Marriot, but this hotel was more affordable than Moana and closer than the Marriot so we thought we would try it. It is very nice, clean, loved all the would work throughout, plenty of nice shops, coffee/breakfast shops. The rooms were very spacious. We did have a beautiful oceanview. They allow you to take towels from the hotel to the beach. They have a lovely lounge and hot tub. It is very open and air through out. We will probably stay here again!!!

This was our first time in Hawaii. We stayed in Hyatt Regency Waikiki for 3 nights.
We checked in around 4pm and we waited for 30 minutes even there was only 1 person in front of us waiting in line. There was only 2 receptionists in the counter at the time.
I got the room on 36 floors and it next to the elevator. When I got inside my room the room wasnt cleaned. There was trash bags on the floor next to the bed, and dirty towels on the floor. So, we went back to the lobby and asked waited on the the line to get a diffrent room. Lucky for me, a manager walked by and he pulled me outside, I told him the problems with the room and asked to move to different room. Another 10 minutes waiting and finally he got back and gave me the keys for diffrent room on 38 floor plus he will not chrage me resort fees. When I got to my room I found out this room next to the elevator <ugh>. The noise of elevators disturb us in the room. We couldnt sleep at night so the next night we asked to switch to different room and we got a different room on 14 floors. But this time without a king bed that I reserved but a receptionist gave me 2 queen / twin beds. I didn't have a choice so I accepted. Still better than nonsleep at night because of noises from elevators.
Another bad luck after I moved to a room on 14 floors, the room next to me they got back to their room late (1 am)and party in their room, all the noises from that room (loud music, lould noises) until 3am. I didnt know what to do and couldnt wait until morning so I can check out and head to the airport.
When I checked out it took me another 15 minutes wait in line to check out. I spent another 20 minutes to discribed the problems above over and over again with the receptionist because she charged me resort fees.

I thought Hyatt is a 4 stars hotel but it turned out I was wrong because of bad luck while I stay there (long line, receptionist not enough in the front counter, wait too long to check in, check out, bad room location (next to elevators, noises from elevator, receptionists unfriendly)

Room Tip: When check in make sure ask for a room far away from elevators.

We can honestly say, we have never stayed in a hotel that was as welcoming and friendly as this Hyatt. The lovely lady on reception went out of her way to do everything possible for us. We had a wonderful room with the most comfortable king bed (we want one for home). Breakfast was a treat with a selection for everyone. The staff were excellent, a credit to the hotel. The hotel is in the best location, right across fom the beach. In all, we had the BEST stay and will most certainly stay with them again.

Room Tip: Just make sure not to book a room near the elevators (they are so noisy)

First time to Hyatt Waikiki. Hotel fine was surprised because was meant to have been updated. So disappointed. Bathroom very tiny, hotel friendly and easy check in. Very disappointed in Breakfast as buffet same everyday and always a queue does not seem to matter what time you go from 6am - 11am. Pool area very small especially for the amount of people and they charge you to sit under a Cabanna.. So leaves a bad taste... Beds very comfortable.

Aloha,

Thank you for the review. We appreciate your comments and will share them with staff. We regret that you were not more pleased with the property. The renovation of which you referred was of the third floor where we added three new restaurants, the Regency Club Lounge, and a new whirlpool in 2011. The breakfast restaurant, SHOR, is very popular and we are working on addressing the line issue that you commented upon. We are now open at 5:30 a.m. and have an express and to-go option for those in a hurry. Thank you again for taking the time to share your review of your stay.
