We stayed at the Hyatt Waikiki for 4 nights. We were put in a room in the Diamond Head Tower with an impeccable view of the Waikiki beach, the ocean, and Diamond Head. The room is high enough where street noise is not an issue even with the balcony door open.
The Waikiki Beach is just right across the street. There are numerous shops and restaurants along Kalakaua Avenue, which is the main thoroughfare through the heart of Waikiki. Within the hotel premises there are also stores (and 3 convenient stores) as well as rental car offices. With parking being $30 a day, it makes more sense to rent a car only for the days you need it then renting a car at the airport and spend the extra $30 a night.
The room is clean and comfortable, though the decor is a bit dated and has visible signs of wear and tear. But then we're looking at a hotel room and not our next condo so as long as the room is functional we have no complaints. Service is adequate.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Waikiki. With so many hotels in Waikiki fighting over the same pool of visitors, whether it is a good value or not really depends on whether you get a good deal or not after all. Since we got a great deal, of course it is great value for us!More
