Ron was the perfect guide for us and we had our best day on our Hawaii vacation on our day tour with Ron. (We visited Oahu and Kauai.) Ron was on time, easy going, low key and sincere. He took us to to some breathtaking scenery, took pictures for our family, stopped at many local food stops and we had conversations about history, families and shared funny stories; and we were very luck to went on board the Hokulea and met the crew!! He was like family showing his friends around. Never any pressure or cheesiness. Ron guided my 8 year old son for an ocean swim and snorkeling (his very first time) and he took many wonderful pictures of us underwater and swimming with sea turtles and sent them to us the very night after the tour. My son was completely at ease and had a wonderful experience because Ron was so calm and easy going. That in itself was priceless. He was also very patience with our children (8 and 4) who won't stop asking questions the whole trip! The places, food and scenery were all fantastic and you can see the same stuff on other tours, but Ron was what made it special and memorable. Thank you Ron, we hope to see you again when we visit next time or when you visit NYC let us know!

We had 2.5 days in Oahu- we spent one visiting all the Pearl Harbor sites and 1/2 day on our own hiking up Diamond Head and seeing a little of the beaches at Wakiki. On our last day, we spent 10 hours with Ron. Ron gave us a wonderful tour of the entire island. We went to some very scenic spots such as Treetop view, Hanauma Bay, Kualoa Park, Laie Point, Heeia State park, Halona Point, to highlight a few. The day was also a Hawaiian food tour, as we enjoyed the spam sandwiches, poke, shrimp from the shrimp trucks near the shrimp farms, the best chocolate haupia cream pie from Ted's Bakery in Haleiwa, fresh pineapples, dragon fruit, and coconut drink from the road fruit stand. We also learned so much about the flowers, trees, and crops on the island. We especially liked the sleeping grass, and the sticky stem of the Hisbiscus. Our two sons, ages 13 and 17, loved the tour. This is the way to see all of Hawaii in a short time.

We had an amazing day today with Ron! We would never have been able to find all the great spots he showed us, and we made some memories we will never forget. We stopped at a delicious bakery in the morning, and he took us by the pineapple farm and then up to the North Shore, stopping at the Pipeline beach (per special request of mine) where we relaxed, saw dolphins, and also got to meet his son. (Ron has 13 kids and was wonderful with my 3 kids). Then we went to a fresh fruit farm and had the best coconut, fresh pineapple, mango and papaya we have ever had. Next was the macadamia nut shop for some delicious kona coffee and nut purchases. From there we went to Honolulu to see the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the US, and then up a winding road up a mountain which ended in an overlook showing all of Honolulu and the surrounding area -- much, much better than the Diamond Head view. After that we headed east and picked up a yummy lunch, and then off to Ron's house because the kids wanted to boogie board and he generously lent us the ones his kids use. He took us to the most beautiful beach we have ever seen --- we were there for the rest of the afternoon and it was easily the best experience we have had in 9 days on Oahu. Really magical. Ron is wonderful to get along with -- easy going, flexible, very knowledgeable about the are -- perfect tour guide. Definitely plan to see Oahu with him -- terrific experience!

Ron was fantastic - showed us a side of Oahu that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. He was very flexible and tailored the tour to our wishes. We started with a quick bite at Leonard's Bakery and then up to a hidden but beautiful lookout. While traveling up toward the North Shore in the morning, we mentioned that our kids were on the North Shore skydiving that morning. He suggested that we try and hook up with them for lunch so they could tell us all about it. Ron made it happen and we all ate at a great local eatery. I mentioned I'd like to see turtles - Ron found some and whipped his snorkeling gear out of the van for us all to use. He got in the water and directed us right to them taking pictures all the time. It was great day. Ron is very personable and enjoyable to be with. I highly recommend him.

My experience was laudatory. Since we had been to Oahu before and had been on parts of his route, he asked me what places we had not seen, and then offered very important input. I asked for a 6 hour tour. He was wonderful in sharing history, his own experiences, as well as aspects of his family and being raised on Oahu. Best of all, he knew the small yet best places to eat and to purchase items.
And he seemed as if he enjoys each tour. Van was sparkling clean, and he even had a brush to wipe sand from your feet!
I have been sold on private tours for awhile now, and will continue based on this experience. No canned program, and price tis close to the same as a sightseeing bus with 50 people.
He deserves the ranking he has earned
