“Good Food, Great View!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2013

This is a restaurant that was referred by several colleagues at a recent conference in Hawaii - it was good food, great view, on the beach, and we were even fortunate to have some entertainment that night.
Friends and I ordered the mussels and fish and were pleasantly surprised. Though they must watch their service, as it was slow and I went up to ask for my food...I saw my sweet potato fries sitting in the "window" and with no heat lamp , they we almost room temp when Ireceived them.
I would try their breakfast and lunches next time - very reasonable prices and fresh food, not to be missed.

“Sorry to say”

I may have gotten sick from eating here! They use wooden trays to serve their burgers, salads etc. If not cleaned properly, wood can harbor germs. I experienced two days of upset stomach after having lunch here on 25MAY13. Suggest they use a wax paper liner between the wooden tray and the food item.

“Consistently good, inexpensive, great location.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

We've found this place since we like the quieter end of Waikiki beach. The cafe is in front of the surf break called Publics, close to the Aquarium and Natatorium at the southern end of Waikiki Beach. It's basically a casual beach/hole in the wall kind of place. Heavily frequented by locals /surfers/lifeguards as well as tourists. We went there every day for 1 week for something and it was all consistently good and delicious. The place opens at 7am for breakfast and they have a BBQ evenng with music on Fr/Sat (which you don't need to have - you can still order off the menu). There is something for everyone - pancakes, bagels, burgers, sandwiches, loco moco, dinner and lunch plates with rice/salad and chicken or fish. The calamari steak was especially good. My 4 year old went for the hot dogs and sweet potatoe fries. We loved the Mahi Mahi fish tacos and the salmon and ahi steaks. And I appreciated the fresh nice salads. The food is served on wooden koa plates with a slice of pineapple and some flowers. The setting is pretty with your feet almost in the sand. This is a casual take away kind of place. The wait was between 5-10 minutes for food. We went at every time of the day, even on weekends it wasn't bad and you are on the beach on island time anyway. You order at the counter and pick up by number called. We never had a bad meal there and it's dirt cheap for Hawaii. Most of our dinnner/lunches costs around $10-12. You can also just go for coffee which is excellent, pick up some fresh pineapple or a passionfruit smoothie. I would highly recommend this place. And yes, the very young student type staff are all lovely.

“Okay place but good food with a great sunset view”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

Great sunset and music was good, line was ridiculous, and the buffet fish ... skip (shudder) ... Waaaaay too much salt. Not expensive, but no reservations and did I mention that crazy line that goes at a snails's pace?

“Hidden eatery in scenic location.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013 via mobile

Take a leisurely stroll up Waikiki beach toward Diamond Head and you will run into this place. Stay on the sidewalk nearest the beach, and walk about 5 minutes past the last hotel on the strip. Perfect place for breakfast and lunch, cause you leave the crowds of Waikiki behind. Fish and chips and the BBQ sandwich were excellent, and prices are reasonable. There shaded tables or you can sit at a picnic table and watch the waves crash into the beach. After you finish, continue on 5 minutes more and you will run into the aquarium.
