This was the best place we ate on our 10 day vacation in Hawaii. The food is fabulous, the drinks are liquid artistry as they call them. Best mai tai you'll have. Book a table and watch the sunset while listening to wonderful live music. Just a great find!!

This was a find! We were staying nearby at the Halekulani and we wanted to go to a bar with a view. Well, we weren't disappointed with this one! It was a very cool and elegant atmosphere with an indoor/outdoor set up with comfortable couches, all black surfaces, brown accents and great music. The cocktail claim was based on the fact that the bartender did win the World MaiTai contest so we gave it a go. With caramelised pineapple and a few spectacular touches, I would agree that this was indeed worthy of the award - I've had a lot of MaiTai s and this one was wonderful! The tapas was inventive and filling with favourites being the spring rolls and the chicken wings with a nod to the spicy tuna rolls, all delicious. Great for chilling by the sunset and if you go on a Friday, they have an excellent view of the fireworks!

We intended to just eat in the restaurant, but to our surprise, they set us up in the special Thanksgiving dinner area, since it was a special occasion and the night before our wedding. I could have asked for a better dinner! It was an absolutely perfect 5 course dinner in an intimate outdoor setting. I look forward to trying out their normal menu next time but if this special event was an indication of their attention to the details I will not be disappointed.

We dined in this restaurant last night. Sitting on a deck overlooking Waikiki. Nice atmosphere, lovely food. Our only regret was that we didn't ask the waiter to stagger the delivery of the food. We ordered about eight different dishes and they all arrived at once. It was a rush to eat them while they were still hot. With that in mind I would recommend that you try it.

Wai'olu Liquid Artistry, 6th floor, Trump International Hotel

We dined there on a Friday night.  When you book, be sure to tell Thames that you want to watch the Hilton Friday night fireworks.  They will seat you outside where they usually serve breakfast in the morning so that you are right beside the railings.  If you don't tell them you want to see the fireworks, they will seat you inside where your views will be obstructed by the patio umbrellas.  Once the fireworks started up, a lot of people from inside the restaurant came out to watch them from behind our table.  We had a perfect view from our seats on the 6th Floor of the Trump hotel, with Fort Derussy Park in the foreground, the ocean in the sideview, and the preview of the gorgeous orange, pink, and violet sunset.  If you sit inside, it's also a winning situation as there is a live entertainment.  The singer they use is signed to a local record label and is quite talented.

Of course, even without the entertainment, the food was all delicious, artistically presented, and very fresh.  We shared two appetizers.  One was a sushi and it was probably the freshest fish inside maki rolls that we had had outside of Japan, although the style was more Montreal than Japan style.  The second was crab cakes.  Our server, Kiele was completely on the ball and kindly checked on food allergies and was able to make some adjustments to this dish for us.  The crab cakes were slightly on the salty side, but that was likely due to the alteration in dipping sauces.  It was still yummy despite the change. They were also able to prepare my main dish of fish slightly differently so that it was suitable for me.  I appreciated all the effort and communication with the kitchen to make this happen.  The fish was cooked perfectly - slightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.  Their vegetables were still slightly crispy, which I really appreciate in side veggies.  I also had their award winning Mai Tai, complete with raw sugar cane stick.  It was the best Mai Tai that I had on the whole trip out of 4 that I sampled.  Make sure to ask for the special signature award winning Mai Tai, not the regular concoction.  We also appreciated the wine recommendations with the meal and all the extra information our server supplied to us about the wine, the food, the ingredients, and the local singer of the evening.

All in all it was a magnificent evening dinner from start to end. The service from reception, our server, and the bussers was outstanding, accommodating, and anticipatory.  Best vacation Fine dining dinner in a long time.
