Where to start, the timetable provided at the Bus Stop, at the Hotel and on the website at the time of the use of the bus was incorrect. They changed the last bus from 10:00PM to 8:00PM. So we waited for over a 1 hour to find out the next day that now the bus stop at 8:00PM. I still wondering why there don't have the information published anywhere.

The tour is suppose to be narrated but currently on the 4 loop, only 1 is narrated and when we took that loop, the narration was not working. To be honest this is not a City Sightseeing is more a shuttle service.

We rode on the buses for 2 days (night tour included), on the three available routes. We loved our guide, Blane, who gave us really good tips on places where we should eat and buy souvenirs. You definitely have to use the earplugs if you are interested in historical information and interesting stories about the places, since the wind and noise of the city make it impossible to hear anything from the guide if you are not seating close to him. But we have used it mainly to travel around the island and trying to hop off and on the buses on the intersection of the routes was kind of challenging, since they run on a tight schedule. You have to keep track of your time if you really want to make the most of it.

Its not like the double deck tour bus that you see in NYC. Lucky us the bus was not as crowded as the one in NYC. The ticket is good for 24hrs keep in mind that the bus don't run 24hrs. The cost is about $29 for adult, when I ask the conductor of the cost he say its $19 for adult. For $10 less than normal, not sure if this was a one time thing, we took the tour. The radio with the GPS was nice, the conductor also provided some additional information. We hop off at Chinatown, from the homeless people that were around the bus stop did not want to be there too long. Granted we could have gotten to Chinatown via the "the Bus" for $2.50 adult / $1.25 child (exact change a must).
The bus is suppose to be by every 20-30min, its more like once every 50 but I can be wrong.

All good in theory but not so much in practice.

It seemed like a good deal when we found an offer one of the tourist brohures for a discounted rate and free for kids. One loop took about 45 mins without traffic, but trying to use the bus subsequently (tickets we purchased were valid for 24hrs) proved frustrating. The blurb says every 20 mins, in reality we found it closer to 30-35 mins and that was only from the time we turned up at the stop

They changed the route to miss the Chinatown stop due to roadworks, but didn't tell anyone, and one of the guides gave us incorrect info on where to get off for our hotel so it was lucky we were on the ball with that one.

Value for money is poor, would be better off on a proper tour, I'm glad we didn't take the extended options, but it was a good way to get a feel for the city on our first day there.

The Double Decker trip was in the sun for most of the trip around the city. It has to stop too often and for too long in the traffic, so it was very hot! There is no guide to give commentary, but instead we were given headphones to listen to a prerecorded tour. If the bus is running behind the tour does not match up with the audio. We got off in China Town and the guide directed us to the Cultural Center, but we never found it. We were walking in an area that did not feel too safe and there were very few if any other tourists. We did enjoy a great lunch at Julia's cafe located across from the Iolani Palace. I don't recommend that you do this hop on hop off with Aloha!
