Is there really such a thing as bad shaved ice in Hawaii? This is just a small neighborhood store in Honolulu that serves wonderful shaved ice. Being originally from Hawaii, we stop here after going to the beach at Ala Moana on the way back home. It is not the easiest place to find since it is between Kapiolani Blvd and King Street but definately worth the search. If you want to drive all the North shore obviously Matsumoto's is fine but for the locals in Honolulu it's not worth the drive.
Parking is the biggest issue. There is a small lot Ewa to the store but it is difficult getting in and out. There is an abundance of street parking so it really is not that big of a deal.
Options in terms of size, flavors, with/without ice cream etc are massive. We always get the vanilla ice cream and vary the flavors. Regardless it is great. There are benches in front of the window where you order but they do not accomodate many people.
Prices are reasonable and are similar to the competition.
Would highly recommend after a long day at the beach or shopping.
