Reviewed May 28, 2014

and it's in the middle of waikiki beach so not like there is nothing else to do there. I was there some years ago but the review page does not let you say anything older than about a year. i have been there more than once but not just to see the statue.

“Paying homage to Duke”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

I loved this statue. Duke Kahanamoku is revered in Hawaii as the the man who popularized and brought the sport of surfing to the rest of the world. It sits right in front of Kuhio Beach park and there's always something happening at the park. It''s a great place to take a photo, that's for sure. Not to be missed if you are near the beach at Waikiki.

“nice photo op”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

One must get a picture and have your photo taken in front of the statue. Duke Kahanamoku was the ambassador of Aloha and the father of surfing.

Located right off of Waikiki Beach, this was on my "to see" list. A nice history lesson about Hawaii and surfing.
