Oh how delicious and wonderful to see the divine noodles being made before your eyes. Absolutely delicious - we particularly liked the curry udon noodles - so slurpy, so tasty and cheap - an excellent contrast to the big, expensive restaurants on the main drag. There is a good reason why it is so popular - it's really delicious.

Marukame Udon was recommended to us by many of our friends who have visited Honolulu. After passing by and seeing long line ups for the previous 2 days, we bit the bullet and lined up for dinner. The line up moves at a decent pace, as people order, eat, and leave.

For 2 families of 4, we ended up sitting separately. They are not set up to accommodate groups that are larger than 5-6 people. There's a sign at the front door asking people to not save a table if you have not ordered. Most people abide but the odd family will try to save a table.

We ordered the ONTAMA BUKKAKE UDON, BUKKAKE UDON, and KAKE UDON, along with a few of their tempura items - vegetable and prawn.

The udon comes in regular and large sizes, and hot and cold soup. Unfortunately, we didnt get a second opportunity to go back there for a second round.

One of our favorite places in Oahu. A local told us about it and they were so right. The noodles are freshly made all day. The tempura is so light and delicious. A definite must every time we're in Oahu.

We love this place. Udon is great & then the sides. I like the all the tempura vegtables. In 5 days we ate here twice.

I went here in the mid afternoon thinking the queue would be shorter, but it moved quickly and I was served within 10 mins. The UDON is amazing, the tempura very average. I love the udon and will come back again!!!
