This is the best Udon I have ever eaten any where. There are quite a few choices as far as the Soup and noodles but you cannot go wrong with any of them. The large is really big so make sure you are hungry if you make this choice. There are delicious tempura selections to go along with your Udon soup. There is usally a line if you go before 2pm.

We must have passed by the line outside Marukame Udon ten times over the course of a couple of days before we finally decided to brave it, and we were so glad we did.

I ordered bukakke odun, which is served cold. Mr. B had his Ontama-style, topped with a soft boiled egg. The noodles themselves were tender and perfectly cooked, and both came swimming in a deliciously amazing, wonderfully savory sauce that made our umami receptors do a freaking happy dance all over our mouths.

Our whole bill for two bowls, four small plates and a soda came to just $18! Especially by Waikiki standards, that’s a crazy-good deal.

The food is simple, amazingly fresh & very authentic. It's also a great value.
You choose hot or cold noodles and broth favors are deep, well developed.

Do not get discouraged by the line.... Totally worth the wait. My husband & I ordered a simple noodle/broth bowl $4.95 then we choose a tempura item. We choose the prawn $1.50 ea, vegetable - onion/carrot, sweet potato calamari at $28 in total for both and way too much food! The next time we pasted ourselves - $15 total and totally full. Do not leave Waikiki without visiting this amazing place!

There's a good reason the line for this place is always down the sidewalk. It's definitely worth the wait. The noodles are made on the spot, always fresh, and the broth is to die for.
If you're not staying in Waikiki, it's nearly impossible to find a parking spot in the area. If this is the case, there's another location in downtown Honolulu where parking is plentiful.
