Aloha! This was our first stay with Shell Vacations at the Ilikai and it was great! The staff were extremely helpful with directions and getting us frozen Canucks settled in.
The hotel amenities were excellent and the fitness room very well equipped. The room was superb with a full kitchen to prepare our breakfast on the lanai.
Waikiki beach is an easy half-hour stroll and the Ala Moana Mall is even closer for you shoppers out there.
We will definitely be back on our next Hawaiian vacation. Mahalo everyone!

Ok Ok, I know I should have written this review earlier but it slipped my mind. We booked this hotel for my parents on Priceline. Got a great deal. Each and every room had a view of the Marina. Dad phoned a couple days ahead and asked for a room on a higher floor. He ended up getting a room, second from the top! The hotel was clean and location was very safe. Since it was away from Waikiki beach you avoid the large number of tourists and noise on the beach. Everyone tells us that staying on the beach can be overrated (and expensive). The hotel was just in front of a mall with a large food court and Macy's. My parents went there everyday to eat. An ABC store was also within walking distance nearby. This is where they picked up souvenirs and bottled water. The hotel has a shuttle service to Waikiki Beach. It was very convenient and made getting around pretty easy. The staff was really friendly and helpful.

Our first experience was being met by the valet as we drove up. He explained the parking (valet only), called to get our room number, and arranged for the bags to be sent to our room, all with a smile and great attitude. We found a box of candy in the room waiting for us. The resort staff gave us a booklet with 2-for-1 dinners at some great restaurants, which we used very often. The day we left they gave us a gift-wrapped box with island cookies and candies in it. The room itself was clean, and while a bit smaller than some resorts, it was fine. Our room overlooked the tennis courts, rather than the ocean, but had a nice roomy balcony outiside. The staff was friendly and seemed to bend over backwards to be gracious and helpful. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

We loved the location as it was close to everything we were there for. Close to the beach for surfing, great views, walking distance to local hot spots for nightlife as well as restaurants from IHOP, McDonalds to local favorites like Wailana Coffee House. Next to Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hale Koa (if you are military, as we are) so abundant shopping choices. The kitchen was great (fully furnished) and laundry room on each floor was nice as well. Shuttles available to different locations as well as the trolley and bus service. The staff is incredibly helpful and more than once, were able to give us directions as well as make suggestions. We plan to come back and would not hesitate to recommend the Ilikai to friends and family. A favorite among the locals ;-)
