We loved our stay at the Ilikai! The location is great, and the city bus and trolly are right out front for easily gettting around the island. Rental cars are also directly across the street for easy rental. We rented cars 2 of our 7 days to head to the North shore beaches and Diamond Head. Otherwise we were able to walk or take public transportation everywhere we wanted to to.
The rooms were large, clean and newly renovated. The bed was very big and comfortable. We enjoyed the full kitchen and stocked up at the ABC store across the street. We had a partial ocean view which was beautiful!
Sarentos rooftop restaurant was wonderful..up the glass elevator in the Ilikai. Morimoto's restaurant is right next door..so many fun places right nearby.
We walked down the beach and one of our favorite daytime bars was the Shorebird-happy hour 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm with $3.50 Mai Tais! The view from the ocean front bar at the shorebird was exceptional!

Room Tip: I would try to get a room in the ocean tower....the higher floor the better..

This was the first time staying at our timeshare at the Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai. The location is in Ohau near downtown shopping (international market) and at the end of the beach. From the beach near the marina there is a great view of the sunset. The timeshare and bell staff were very attentive going above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. The room was a studio with a lanai and distant view of the beach. I have stayed at other resorts in Ohau where the street noise was loud. It probably helped that we stayed in a beach facing room this time because we couldn't hear the street noise and slept very well. The bar located on the main floor served a great breakfast where we shared a local dish, loco moco, which was really great and easy on the budget. We are big eaters and still couldn't manage to finish it. We also shared a giant sushi roll which the bartender had ready very quickly so we could eat and be on our way to the airport. The drinks were great and reasonably priced too! We had a very poor experience with Speedishuttle on the way to the hotel. The trip was 23.57 for 2 people and the driver didn't "know addresses" and wasn't familiar with this major resort. We didn't get out of the van until speaking with the resort staff by phone to confirm the correct location. The driver attempted to drop us off at 2 other resorts a block away which wouldn't be far if not for our luggage and the fact that we were tired since it was almost midnight. The bell staff got us on an upscale van service for half the price for our trip back to the airport. While we enjoy the serenity of the north shore, this was a great experience!

Room Tip: Try to get a beach facing room to avoid street noise.

We celebrated my husband"s birthday in Waikiki. It was our first trip to Hawaii and we knew nothing of the area. How lucky we were to book the Waikiki Marina Resort located in the Ilikai hotel. Even though it is part of a timeshare, there was no pressure to attend a sales pitch. The location was ideal. Every bus and tour company stopped at the Ilikai. The beach was beautiful as well as the pool. The outdoor patio was lovely with a large bar and restaurant. We enjoyed a hula show and Friday night watched the firework display from the patio. Even though we had a room facing the street, we enjoyed beautiful sunrises from our balcony while enjoying our coffee. I loved having a full, well stocked kitchen. No complaints. We hope to return to Hawaii someday and will stay here again.

We stayed for a week, enjoyed our stay very much. Would definitely go again, and recommend to others. We could eat good food right there or close by-walking distance. Also, we were able to go everywhere we wanted to by 'bus'. Very convenient.

We have stayed at the Ilikai 4 times and enjoy it every time. The rooms are clean and fresh. The views are great. The location makes it easy to get anywhere. The outside restaurant has great breakfasts. The ocean view from there is also beautiful. I recommend it to everyone.
