Recently stayed for 9 nights as a family of x6 including x4 adult children - we got adjacent rooms, x1 with x2 bedrooms and the other with twin double beds on the 6th floor - outlook over adjacent park, distant ocean views and down to pool was very pleasant - aircon was a bit noisy for a good night's sleep but welcome relief from the heat - apartments getting a little old but are clean and functional - location is off the million dollar beach strip with all the hotel-only room configurations but still only a brief walk to the beach and everything in town - tours, taxi's, busses and connections are all easily accessible - staff were always very helpful - overall a very good value package for a big family - and yes, we would definitely stay there again! - Marc C, Sorrento Vic Aust

Room Tip: Corner suite overlooking park with ocean view is quiet and very pleasant

We stayed three nights on the third floor overlooking the main road. There is no sound proofing and the traffic noise is horrendous so sleeping is very difficult. I can imagine however that the situation would have been much different on the tenth floor or better still the ocean side of the hotel.
The hotel is well positioned for restaurants; shops and the very crowded beach plus probably the largest green/picnic area in Waikiki. Our room was OK but getting a little tired.

Room Tip: Speak to the management or email before booking to see which rooms are available.

We stayed one night while passing back thru Honolulu on our way home from Maui. After having delay after delay at the airport and getting in 5 hours later than we had expected, Ryan at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly! Our room was upgraded from a standard to one with a full kitchen/living room, and separate bedroom area. The set up would be IDEAL for anyone staying longer than just a night or two. It also had a wonderful view of the park and ocean. The only downside I can think of is the lack of dining options immediately close by. The Hard Rock wasn't far, which we walked to for dinner. But the next morning we had a little difficulty finding something. The coffee shop/café connected to the hotel was completely swamped being smack dab in the middle of breakfast time, so we set out walking. Finally stumbled upon the Royal Hawaiian Center mall with a food court. Besides that tiny thing, our stay was PERFECT! Thank you!

I just stayed at the Outrigger Luana Waikiki and it is no ka oi!!! It is the best. Situated on Kalakaua and the Fort Derussy Park it is great for getting a quiet rest away from the middle of Waikiki with all the traffic and people. The hotel is circled by the park instead of highrises. Each morning I took a wonderful walk through the park to the beach and along the shore there is a nice wide sidewalk heading towards the harbor...great safe park, no vagrants. The hotel itself is a smaller boutique hotel with a lovely lobby and the greatest staff. The front desk goes beyond to make sure you have everything you need, the rooms are nicely appointed with a great kitchen area (granite counter tops, stainless steel sink, etc.) and the beds are SO comfortable and all with the hawaiian theme. I was on the 14th floor with an ocean view and a peek of Diamond Head. Be sure and ask for the 'park side' of the hotel and try and get high up if you are looking for quiet. The A/C worked great and it was wonderful to come back to the nice cool room after doing different day tours in Honolulu. I will definitely go back and stay at the Luana...it is the best!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the park-side of the hotel
