My husband and I had gone snorkeling to Turtle Canyon with Island Magic and it was fantastic. The crew, Capt Crash and Chris, were very nice and personable. Chris took lots of pictures, quick to point out anything that he saw. What's even better is that they post the pictures on Facebook in case your camera didn't take the best of shots. They offer discounts for the other excursions that they offer, in addition to 'repeat offender' discounts for life! We are going back, and we will definitely be going snorkeling again...and the Fireworks Cruise! Thanks for the fantastic experience!

We took the "Friday Night Fireworks Cruise". My group enjoyed it and felt it was well worth the price. We set sail on a beautiful evening and sailed along the coast of Waikiki till the fireworks began from the Hilton Resort. After the fireworks however, as our catamaran was the smallest of the boats, it had been able to edge closer to the fireworks than the others which was nice for viewing. But on leaving the channel another boat caused ours to get entangled in a buoy line. This could have caused us to be stuck for hours till help arrived had it not been for the first mate who pulled his shirt off and jumped into the water and untangled us so fast that half the passengers never realized what happened and then we were back on our way. An excellent crew and boating experience. Although I do have some tips if your taking this cruise to make it truly enjoyable;
1) This is most important. Instead of a parking meter, the parking at the dock had this weird system of folding up cash and shoving it into a slot. There was no time on it so as it was 6pm when we arrived, we didn't shove any money in this slot. Big mistake....it cost us a $40 ticket. Pay the $2-3, it's worth it.
2) It gets cool at night so bring a jacket if your the cold type
Otherwise, enjoy.

This was a great trip that took us to Turtle Canyon. It was a nice ride on the Catamaran that took maybe 20-30mins to get out to the turtle hot spot. It's situated in the middle of the ocean but you can see the shoreline (which looks like Waikiki I think). The directions aren't super clear on how to get to the place - we eventually found it after calling them about 3 times on the way. (We were worried they weren't going to get there on time) But they were generous and didn't leave until everyone was there.

I am confident with snorkelling but my boyfriend isn't so I stayed with him a lot to help him. Unfortunately some people go on this tour not knowing how to swim which is a little silly as you are swimming and snorkelling with the turtles. They provide snorkels but not flippers. They also provide noodles for you to float on. You can bring your own snacks/drinks (even alcoholic ones on board).

Steven was our captain and Lindsay was the (skipper?) assistant. She was super great and took photos and helped everyone out in the sea and on the boat.

Overall it was really fun - from Groupon. Also if you go back a second time just say that you are a repeat offender and they will give you a discount.

This was a fun little excursion with great customer service. This was my first time swimming with turtles, and there were a few of them all in one condensed area.

I found it ironic that the departure port for this trip is a bit of a ways outside of the touristy Waikiki area, and yet the catamaran takes you back to the Waikiki beach vicinity, where Turtle Cove is located. For those of you that are strong/smart swimmers, perhaps you could get to Turtle Cove from Waikiki Beach with a surf or paddle board (although maybe it’s a lot further than it looks). From the beach, just look for where the boat/catamarans congregate, and that will let you know where Turtle Cove is found. For weak swimmers like myself, the catamaran excursion is ideal.

I liked that the trip included swimming noodles if you needed it. And staff do a great job of spotting turtles and sea life for you, in addition to taking pictures of you. And the pictures are posted on facebook.

Bring sun screen with you, as you spend a few hours on the boat and swimming in direct sun. There was no shelter from the sun on the catamaran.

As other reviewers indicated, it is annoying with many people swimming around the turtles from different boats. Whenever a turtle surfaces for air, it is a mad rush of people swimming to the turtle – flailing limbs and all. And expect to be bumped and kicked by clueless tourists.

Excellent and courteous crew.... they allow passengers to bring their own drinks ( with or without alcohol) and snacks. They also provide water for sale as well. No restrooms on board....but there were some restrooms close by in the marina to use before you go on the boat. Also, parking is $1 an hour... bring cash for that. AND cash for a tip.... they were great!!!! Bring a camera for some excellent shots of the city and sunset. They also take a lot of photos and make them available on Facebook for no charge! wow... unheard of. very nice. We went on the sunset cruise, they also have a snorkeling trip and a fireworks cruise on Friday nights. Unfortunately we were unable to go snorkeling with them on this trip.... but we will the next time we go back!!!!!..... they made our 1st visit to Hawaii such a great experience!!! Highly recommend!!!
