Beware of this hotel's valet service. The valet service damaged our rental car and avoided our attempts to contact them about the damage. They ended up not taking responsibility which left us responsible for a deductible. The valet service is contracted out so hotel management did nothing to assist. If you are renting a car while on vacation, I would recommend finding another hotel.

My stay at the Ilikai was excellent. The service was great everyone was very polite .
The rooms are large with comfortable beds. Great location, beautiful views, 2 restaurants, a relaxing cafe, bar and grill on the lobby level with seating inside or out. And Sarento's on the top of the ilikai is an outstanding gourmet restaurant with spectacular views, music and a fine wine selection. I'll be back!

The perfect apartment for those who enjoy the flexibility of self catering.
If you thought the photos were good, the place is even better in real life.
The unlimited local and mainland calls and the fast broadband make staying
here so easy. Fully equipped kitchen with all necessary utensils and the
large flat screen TV and comprehensive cable package complete the package.
Bus stops are at the front door and across the road - Ala Moana Shopping
Center is a 12 minute walk or 1 minute by bus. Absolutely perfect -
heartily recommend.

Could not fault this hotel, perfect location for Waikiki, just outside the hustle and bustle, so quieter than if you were right in the centre.
Room was stunning, we had a sunset room - beautiful watching the sunset each night.
Hotel pool was lovely and beach was gorgeous.
You must hire a car and drive around the island, North sure is stunning and you pass all the scenes you would see in 'Lost' the USA TV series - stunning!
Check out the shopping centre, 5 minute walk away, walk out the hotel and turn left, walk over the bridge and it is across the road - fab shops!!
Waikiki is one of the most amazing places, beautiful beach, tree lined streets with top designer shops, clean and importantly V safe!
A must is hanauma bay for snorkelling, it's a protected bay, but it was well worth the 45min bus ride - a real treat. Also never miss the cheesecake factory in Waikiki - food was amazing, I now understand why you have to wait for a seat. Try mahi mahi, their local fish - delicious.
One of my best holidays ever - amazing!!!

I love this hotel! From the valet to the counter staff, everyone was nice and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and very quiet. Convenient without being in the heart of Waikiki. Can't wait to get back.

We stayed at the Illikai for 11 nights. We were very happy with the ocean view room. It is just outside of Waikiki which was the perfect place for us, as we felt the hotels in Waikiki would have been too busy and noisy. If you take the boardwalk by the beach its only about a 10 minute beautiful scenic walk. Ala Moana Shopping Mall is about a 5-7 minute walk which is a shoppers haven. :) Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that the staff knew we would be arriving from Australia at 10.30am, but were told we had to wait til 3pm for our room. Although we did end up getting in at 1.30pm, which helped. We did a city circle tour with Enoa tours, which was very good. Well worth the money, if you don't want to drive yourself.

Stayed at the Ilikai for 6 nights. At first sight, from the outside, the hotel appears like it could do with a coat of paint, but that's were the negatives end and it is difficult to constantly maintain steel work when right next to the beach.
We were given a room on the 22nd floor which was quiet, clean, tidy and quiet large for this day and age. Both of us could even relax back in chairs on the balcony at the same time.
View from balcony was stunning looking out over the yacht club and out to sea. Staff were polite, helpful and I felt quite relaxed in the surroundings. Pool was clean. Only stopped at restaurant for breakfast, food was good with a cooked breakfast for 2 averaging around $25. Car parking in the lot across the road $10 per 24hrs which was good value compared to everywhere else we stayed.
Only comment would be the 20 or so minute walk into Waikiki, however, with all the food we'd been consuming, the exercise was in fact a good thing and we were only a short stroll down to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre. There are the pink trolley buses which stop right out front which can either take you down to Waikiki's main beach or back to the Ala Moana or back to the Ilikai for $2 per time although they dont seem to run as often after dark.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai and would definately recommend.
