“Good Ililkai condo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

Came with husband, 20 & 15 year old boys. Had 1334 condo. Great view over lagoon & ocean, especially good on fireworks night. It provided all we wanted, nice to have space with 2 beds & 2 bath. Full kitchen so you don't have to eat out all the time. Walk to Ala Moana Center & Royal Hawaiian end of Waikiki. Restaurants at hotel good. All friendly. Not luxurious, but good for the price & location.

Will be back!

Room Tip: Book through Waikiki Beach Rentals on line. You can pick condo. 1 or 2 bedders, or just book a hot...

We stayed in one of the privately rented condos in October.
The location of this hotel is great if you want a bit of peace and quiet. There is no noise at night (we slept with the balcony door open every night) and it's very quiet in the morning too.
This would also be a good location if you have small children, the beach is a bit calmer at this end and the lagoon is right out the front.
It is a 10-15 minute walk to Waikiki main beach (you can walk all the way along the beach or take the streets). There are a number of cafes and restaurants nearby if you don't want to walk that far.
In addition to the quiet, the other benefit of being up this end of the beach is that Ala Moana shopping centre is only a 10 minute walk away.
We didn't use the pool (no need, the beach is so close and gorgeous) but the pool area was on the small side and looked a little 'tired'.
There are a number of stores - beautician, mini-mart, travel agent, etc in the lobby.
There is a big ABC store across the road where you can stock up on supplies.
If you have a rental car, we found very cheap overnight parking above the Red Lobster, just across the road from Ilikai.
I can't comment on the hotel service, but because of the great location I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a sea view, the sunsets are beautiful!

Even though this hotel is a mix of condo & hotel (mostly on floors 22, 23, 24), I was very happy with our accommodations and the service. The staff was outstanding in every area. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The views out to the marina and the ocean and the sunset were great. The location is convenient - walking distance to the convention center, and just a trolley ride (FREE to only $2) to Waikiki Beach. The hotel has a restaurant facing the ocean for Happy Hour or a sandwich - good for a convenient snack or dinner. Great restaurant/bar at the top of the hotel. Outstanding views there of the fireworks on Friday and Tues. that come from the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

I had a good stay there and had a great time spent at the beach that was right at our door step. The beds were very comfortable to sleep in and the toilet was very big. I enjoyed the view of the beach from the balcony but was sad to miss the fireworks on tuesdays and fridays.

Room Tip: the rooms facing Hilton hotel can have a good view of the luau they have every night.

I stayed in a condo and the view was excellent and the condo was very clean and had everything we needed. I never got tired of watching the lagoon and ocean from the balcony. We appreciated all the marvelous service we got from the time we booked till we left. We will recommend this condo to our friends.

Room Tip: Get an ocean view.

This property was once a grand hotel but is now getting quite dated the Lanai colors especially public areas are well kept and nice and clean for us the location is great easy come and go walking distance to shopping centre and very close to beach. I would recommend this hotel as a medium range property

Room Tip: Go for the east side of hotel

There are, of course, newer, nicer, more prestigious hotels in Honolulu. But are there better value hotels?
We were very happy with the cleanliness and location of the hotel. But possibly what stood out most was the great service and help from the main desk.
The pool is a little small and old. The restaurants nice but nothing special. But the location meant other swimming and eating options were aplenty.
