This was my second stay at the Ilikai and it was another very pleasant experience. Although the weather was very rainy, the hotel was great. Our room was on the 24th floor, beach side looking towards Diamond Head, Hilton Lagoon and ocean. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. It was a pleasure to meet the manager, Terry Dowsett. He went above and beyond any expectations to be sure we were satisfied with our accommodations. The hotel continues to get updates and was undergoing a new paint job on the exterior. I really like the large rooms and divided bathrooms (two showers)! The microwave, small fridge and coffe maker is a real bonus.
The outdoor Grill/Bar served really good food and especially the Mahi sandwich and salads were great. Very nice place to sit and watch the sunset. The large terrace provides the setting for the Friday night Hula show and fireworks. Even with the rain, they moved inside to the huge lobby for the hula show with chairs and sofas to seat everyone. A very nice evening at no cost! There are lots of good restaurants all around in walking distance. While I do enjoy going to the "heart of Waikiki" to stroll around, it is always refreshing to return to the peace and beauty of the Ilikai. Transportation to the busy Waikiki area is convenient, by trolley or bus. Even to walk there was not bad and we found it to be a pleasant experience by beach or street. I look forward to my next stay there at the one of a kind, Ilikai!

Room Tip: High floor facing Diamond Head/ocean view

We stayed in a private condo at this hotel. Loved the location, staff were helpful and there were plenty of facilities on site. Wifi connection in the room was very poor, but no problems in the lobby or terrace. We were on the 11th floor overlooking the marina - could get very noisy with sirens at night even though the windows were closed. Only one disappointment - the pool.

Room Tip: Corner suite very spacious, and view is lovely on the marina side were we were located.

This was a nice hotel. It rained alot while in Hawaii so to be able to go downstairs and get coffee, work out, and shop for groceries/snacks was great. It is also in a very fine location. You will be in walking distance to the mall and fine restaurants. The hotel also has a very nice restaurant at the top.
The room was spacious (2bdrm suite) and had a nice view of the Ocean. The only negative thing was there was a leak in our room and our floor got pretty wet. When the hotel staff was notified they sent up a blower to our room.
I would stay here again.

Room Tip: -Book tours 1 week in advance when you know the weather.

having stayed at a condo with an oceanview compared to this one with city view the oceanview is recommended. However the suites are similar and if you are on a budget and don't mind a little noise..its not bad with the doors closed...the city view would be OK..same great location on the edge of waikiki close to the mall

Aloha,

My husband & I spent 14 days at the Ilika Hotel 2-23-12. Our first time in beautiful Hawaii!
Our experience in Waikiki was wonderful. We were very happy with our Condo. The view of the lagoon & ocean was spectacular. Enjoyed watching the Luau from the Hilton while sitting on our lanai. Everything was in nice walking distance (to beach & downtown shopping). Enjoyed the fireworks on Friday's. The hotel staff were very knowledgeable and friendly in helping us plan our tour outings. The bus stops were just in front of the Hotel which was so convenient. The hotel was very clean, quiet and safe. Enjoyed the little bar & entertainment on Fridays. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends. We will definitely return to the Ilikai on our next trip back to Oahu!
Mahalo

Room Tip: Ocean view is worth the extra cost!
