This hotel was great I rented a suite rm 1530 right across the street from the Hilton Village. Right there in downtown Waikiki lots to do and see restaurants within walking distance. Mall within 2 miles wonderful location right by the marina and near the beach. Waking up to waves and 80 degree weather i definetely can get used to it. loved it loved it.

We stayed at the Ilikai Hotel prior to our cruise and everything was perfect. We were granted a seniors discount and we given a room on the 24 floor overlooking the ocean and the fireworks at the Hilton Hotel next door. All our requests were met. We were also allowed a 1 o'clock check out which allowed us the do the Pearl Harbor Tour prior to check out. The room was renovated and everthing looked great. We were disappointed that we could not get a reservation at the roof top "Sorrentos" as they were booked up. So if you are staying at this hotel on a Friday night and want to see the Fireworks while eating, book a reservation in advance of your arrival. We ended up eating at the bar grill patio and everything was good. I would stay here again if I went back to Honolulu.

Room Tip: Request a top floor with ocean view or ocean front

It was lovely to come in to the clean and tastefullly decorated unit. It was quiet and peaceful at all times. The large windows opened out to a gorgeous view and the curtains over them kept out the early morning light when we wanted to sleep in. The kids of course loved the great new flat screen tv. It was very spacious even with the couch pulled out into a bed. We used the fully stocked kitchen for making scrumptious breakfasts and snacks. We did walk to the many restaurants for lunch and dinner. It was great to walk either by the beach or by Ala Moana Blvd to get to any of the eateries we felt like. The mall was really close too with a great food court and grocery store - food land.
The coffee place at Illakai was great and so was the Kona Bean right across the road. The bar downstairs was perfectly situated with a view of the ocean. The stores downstairs were useful when we needed something in a hurry. Of course the many ABC stores were ubiquitous. We always saw people cleaning the walkways. We relaxed by the pool some times which had clean towels and shower. We could order drinks and food from the bar to have by the poolside. Friday evening if you were tired to walk to a restaurant, you could enjoy the hula, music and fireworks (on the lagoon) downstairs.
Our favorite time was sipping wine as we watched the sunset from the lanai. The view from the bed and lanai was breathtaking. Most mornings we ate our papaya and pineapple on the lanai watching the early surfers take the waves.
Most mornings we had time to go for a jog along the park which we could see from the lanai.

Room Tip: ask for the room with a view

Although this hotel is older, it is still very nice. The rooms are spacious and we had a deck with a lovely ocean view.

The area is almost completely ruined by crass commercialism; having said that, we found some great places to eat. And, there is nice beach walking.

And, on Friday evenings the hotel has local dancers with a lovely meal and later fireworks.

The bar/ restaurant at the Ilikai had some very nice food at reasonable prices. Service was very good, as well.

Room Tip: Do book an ocean view. Online booking is cheaper.

We've been to Oahu over five times and never realized this hotel right on the water was so reasonably priced. Since we'e budget conscious we normally book one of the hotels two blocks away from the beach where it's pretty noisy. This time a friend tipped us off to the Ilikai where your car is parked by a valet, an escalator swings you up to the spacious sparkling lobby. Our room was huge, bright and clean. Recommend this one!!

Room Tip: Concierge there is especially helpful.
