Excellent hotel and staff in a great location, one block from the beach and a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area in Waikiki. Stayed as a couple and received a complimentary room upgrade from city view to ocean view, a very unexpected treat! A range of happy hours at different bars throughout the hotel catering for all. Bar staff excellent and made recommendations on drinks and added the little extras to soft drinks to make them different. Complimentary bottle of water or a can of soft drink per guest per day provided. The pool is on an open deck on the tenth floor and it can get very breezy up there, suggest taking something to secure your towels to the lounger. Our second stay at this hotel, we would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.

Hotel was an old property bought by Hilton. It was hot in lobby area rooms were small and the online pictures make them look much nicer than they actually are. The hotel is a long walk from the beaches.

Curtains ripped. Told customer service and got no more than a nod from the rep. Nice. No one seem to care.............................much. Had to walk down to lobby for valet, no phone service. At least that was the only good service we got.

Great location. Some concierge staff clearly don't want to be there and it shows. The younger staff at the concierge desk are good. We got good restaurant advice from the Front Desk staff. Room was okay-couch could use a cleaning or replace. Lobby is horrible. No A/C and the furniture is tired looking. Great valet staff though. Great restaurant especially for breakfast.

I've stayed at the Hilton Waikiki Beach several times and see its many strengths (see my previous reviews). The views from the ocean view rooms are great, but it also serves a business clientele. I like the balance and stay here when I'm in Waikiki. I like the location, a block back from beach.

My newly-found concern is the "resort fee" that has been implemented in the last year (since my last visit). Although I would prefer that they just build the resort fee into the cost of the room, I realize that for competitive reasons they think they need to charge it as a separate fee. My concern is that they really don't provide any amenities in exchange for the fee. Since my last visit (when there was no fee), the only new think that I see is a daily activity by the pool. When I was there, there were two activities that alternated by day. I don't think that these were activities that many would take advantage of. They also provide two bottles of water each day. They do bundle internet into the resort fee, but this was previously provided for free to Hilton HHonors members, so the value of the HHonors membership is diminished by the resort fee.

So, if they feel the need to charge an extra fee so that their rates look like other hotel rates, they should just call it a fee and leave it at that.
