“Fantastic Service and hotel!”
Reviewed May 14, 2009

We arrived at this hotel after an overnight flight. Although we had advised the hotel that we were ariiving at 0630, we were expecting to be asked to leave our bags and come back later to check in for our 5 night stay. Amazingly our room was ready, just what we needed to catch up on our sleep and face our first day in O'ahu.
The quality of service at this hotel was amazing and staff could not do enough to make sure that your stay was as relaxing as possible. The executive lounge breakfast, although at first glance looked like a normal hotel one, had high quality produce and plenty of lovely fresh fruit and a great selection of cereals.
On checkout, again we were not leaving unitl 8 in the evening, we were advised that on our retunr to pick up our bags, we could use a hospitality room to freshen up. That was a fantastic bonus after a day wandering around hot and humid Waikiki!
The restaurant, Mac24/7 we loved, again great quality!
Think this may be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! Well worth the cost!

Downsides....no wifi in the room and $25 daily parking charge.

This hotel went through a face lift a couple years ago, the guest room looks fresh and modern. The sleeping quarter and the bathroom look immaculate (I agree the shower door bucks me). But the lack of inroom WIFI or broadband is not good for business travellers. The gym could use some upgrades. I think this hotel is more catered to family. The location of the hotel is great, just a block away from the beach.

We were happy we decided to stay at this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, well appointed and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and we didn't experience any hiccups during our stay. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and shops. There were at least 2 ABC stores within a block of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

Complimentary breakfast in the lower level for Hilton Honor VIPs consisting of standard continental fare: pastries, breads, cereals, juices, coffee, tea...

Ordered room service for breakfast one of the mornings: HUGE pancakes, when they say huge, they weren’t kidding! I ate maybe a quarter of my pancake (see photos). Hubby enjoyed a Japanese breakfast. As should be expected food here is food is a little expense compared to the mainland.

Me and my family stayed here for 5 days and really loved the hotel. Valet parking (which is a requirement in Waikiki because there is a lack of parking there) is $25/per day, which is more than most hotels, but there's nothing you can do about it, so we just chalked it up to part of the expense of traveling to Hawaii. When we checked in, Frills, a nice lady at the desk, bumped us up to an ocean view room after I mentioned I was originally from Hawaii. (Plus, tourism is down right now and we think the hotel was virtually empty). We were in room 1404--the noise from Kuhio Ave was still heard, but not as bad as staying closer to the ocean and hearing partying and bar-goers all night as we had at different hotels. The hotel is located within walking distance of the beach and we also walked to the aquarium one day, which was a good walk, but our kids did fine. We also appreciated the security--the elevator will not take you to any floors if you don't put your keycard into it.
We had eaten at the Cheesecake Factory (also any easy walk from the hotel) and had leftovers so I had asked about a microwave. The gentleman at the front desk told me if I had wanted one, I was supposed to have reserved one ahead of time, so was unhelpful there. The room does have a little refrigerator and a safe, which we used.
Laundry--located at a sister hotel, Ohana East, a few blocks down Kuhio. I got change from Frills at the front desk, because there is no change available at the laundry facility. $2.25 per load of wash and $2.25 for 36 minutes of dryer. There were many homeless also doing laundry there, but they kept to themselves and one was very friendly, so no problems.
I did ask the woman at the concierge desk a quick question one day and she was less than friendly, but still answered the question accurately.
I really appreciated how clean the hotel was. The beds were pretty comfortable, other than being too small--double beds should be banned in hotels. For sleeping arrangements, I had my 3 year old son sleep on the floor between us (I had asked for a cot, but they don't offer them at all.)
Oh, and if you eat at the restaurant called Mac 247 downstairs, SHARE ALL FOOD! For one thing, it's expensive, (even breakfast was $40 or more for 4 of us). For another thing, the portions are huge! When they say the Mac pancake is huge, they mean HUGE!! The four of us couldn't even eat half the stack of pancakes. My kids even shared the kids' pancakes every morning, and juice was like $5 per glass, so we usually shared the juice, too.
All in all, our favorite hotel in Waikiki--cleaner, quieter, just a better experience than we've had from the other 3 hotels we've tried out.

We stayed for a fortnight here in March, and had a lovely time. What must be remembered is that primarily this is a business hotel, not a holiday one! We noticed a lot of high class weddings, and other celebrations at this hotel. As a result of the above, you don't get the late night partying until 4am, you don't get sand everywhere, flghting in the corridors, or the general spring break madness that was going on in other hotels!! We had a ocean room view on the 35th floor, and loved it. Very quiet, apart from the early morning street noises - but then, every other hotel in the area had the same noise. It was spotless, housekeeping was frequent and efficient, and anything we asked for was carried out courteously and efficiently, as one would expect from this calibre of hotel. It is on the quiet end of the Waikiki strip, but a 5 or 10 minute takes you to wherever you want to go. Lulu's on the seafront does great food - v.reasonable and a 5 minute stroll. We found Hy's overrated & overpriced for the type of service us Europeans expect. Mac24 in the Prince Kuhio does very good food, if a bit pricey. The pool is small, but great that its on the 10th floor as you get a cooling breeze. Would love to go again, and would definitely stay here if we had the choice/funds!

My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights from March 4 to 11, 2009. We loved our room - it was a mountain view and it was beautiful day and night. We were on the 34th floor and had a corner room so had a balcony that was larger than most, and yes there is no privacy on them for sure. We were able to see the ocean from around the corner of the balcony also. The found the food in the executive lounge to be very good and all we needed. Breakfast consisted of three types of juice, tea, coffee, milk, cereal, bagels, muffins, danish, croissants, a fruit platter with five or six different types of fruit, cream cheese, jam and peanut butter. What more does one really need? For the afternoon snacks, which start at 5:00 p.m. there was Coke and Sprite, tea, coffee, cheese & crackers, chips and salsa, grapes, a veggie platter with about five different veggies and two dips, along with one hot appetizer and home baked cookies. We thought it was great. Some evenings we just had pizza for dinner, or even just ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery on Kalakaua Avenue. The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant. There are towels at the pool which you are allowed to take to the beach and return. The hotel is right on Kuhio Avenue and so buses are very easy to catch. We rented a car for three days to see around the island and parked next door at the Waikiki Banyan parkade for $10.00 per day with in and out privileges. It was really nice having a safe in the room and a mini refridgerator as well. We enjoyed the 4 to 5 minute walk to the beach and also enjoyed walking along the Ala Wai Canal. We took an airport bus (Robert's) from the airport to the hotel and return and would not do that again. It took two hours to get to our hotel - Prince Kuhio was the second to last stop on the run and it was 3:00 p.m. with heavy traffic. Having said that, there were only four pick-ups on the way back to the airport and it took less than an hour. If we were to return to Honolulu we would definitely stay at this hotel again.
