“Nice Hotel and Great Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

We arrived early to the hotel from a cruising holiday and only had to wait about an hour to have our room ready. While waiting we dined in Mac24 restaurant and found the service was very good and the food portions were generous.

The rooms are bright and modern, if we were to return we probably would request a higher up room as the 15th floor was noisy through the sliding glass doors at times. However we were just pleased to get access to our room sooner due to ill health and needed to have a rest before heading out to explore Wakkiki.

Due to a lift malfunction we were provided complimentary wifi which was appreciated. If you are a guest with a disability I would recommend if possible using the lift at the rear of the property as the lift at the front relies on waiting on a staff member for a guest to use it, if that could be changed that would be a good improvement so that guests could use the lift independently.

The beds were very comfortable and we had no problems with the location, it is a bit of a walk but not that far so I'm not sure why it would be a problem for fit able bodied people if I was able to manage the walk. It also means its a bit more affordable than the beach front resorts.

Our room was also very clean and kept that way during our stay. I used the spa and the 10th floor and it was a bit windy but that is to be expected with a pool/spa on the 10th floor.

Overall we were very happy with our stay and if we were to return to Wakkiki we would stay at this hotel again

Our 9 day stay at the Hilton Waikiki Beach was great. Things started out well when the front desk allowed us to check in early after an unpleasant trip through LAX. We were soon at the close-by ABC store and then off to the pool. The pluses:
1. Nice room: Not huge, but modern, clean and very nice. Our balcony on the 35th floor had a great view of the mountains and, being on a corner, a nice view of the ocean. The housekeeping staff did a great job. The hotel is very well constructed with concrete walls, so we never heard our neighbor (a big plus).
2. Great lobby: The bar and sitting areas were very comfortable with great service (a theme during our stay). The evening entertainment was variable, but Sunway (sic) and her crew were a lot of fun.
3. Restaurant: Mac 24/7 is the only restaurant on site, but it is all you need. Try the moco loco!
4. Service-Service-Service: this is where the hotel shined. Everyone was great, but I have to mention Sarah and Myles from the "Hang 10" pool bar. They really made the trip special. From a friendly smile, to knowing our drink and food preferences right away, to joking with us, they were great. We did not have a single episode of "poor service" from anyone, but these two stood out. Brett (Restaurant Director) was also very cool. I also want to give kudos to Michelle at the front desk.
5. Hang 10 Pool Bar: See above, way too much fun. We met a lot of very nice people out there.
6. Location: You can walk just about everyplace,
Minuses:
Only one. The Executive lounge is too small. Twice during out stay we left without eating breakfast because there was no place to sit. With so many Gold and Diamond members choosing this hotel, they really need more room.

We will DEFINITELY stay here again!

Room Tip: The higher the better. Rooms with a mountain view are more quiet as the ocean view rooms are right o...

Firstly I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to the management for the lovely surprised bottle of bubbly and the nibbles to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversay. I really loved this hotel with the friendly staff and the girls who worked behind the bar, you were fantastic, I hoped you liked the little gift from my home land to say a special Thank You. I used to go down to the bar, for some me time where I would take my book and have a cocktail and just relax, it was very special for me. The room was modern and very fresh looking and we had a beautiful view of the ocean. I would recommed this hotel to all my friends and family if they were ever to visit Waikiki and I would and will be coming back to Hawaii and would stay at this hotel again. Thank you again for my treasured memories.

This hotel was in a perfect location! Only a block to the beach and very walkable to other restaurants and activities. Our room had an ocean view with a balcony which was amazing. The room itself was a good size with all the amenities. The staff was always so helpful and nice. Be sure to stop by the lobby bar for a Mac-Cano! The pool is also wonderful, even though the beach is so close. The hotel is also a short drive to some of the main attractions like Diamond Head and Hanauma Bay. You do have to pay for parking at the hotel so keep that in mind. I do recommend having breakfast at the hotel at least once but also try Lulu's Surf Club and Roy's.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better so you can see more of the ocean.

Stayed here at beginning of October. We had planned to do a lot whilst on Oahu so weren't too bothered that the hotel was a block away from thebeach. The welcome we received was very good from bell stand and reception staff. The hotel was very nice just what you would expect of Hilton. i did however think that the area of Waikiki and the beach area were very busy and for me that was not a good thing but has nothing to with the actual hotel.
Our travel agent had booked us a double room but we ended up with two beds. The room however was very clean with everything we needed although I really dont know why the wardrobe was in the bathroom. If I was staying longer I would have requested another room but as it was we were only there for 3 nights and I didn't unpack.
The staff were all very friendly and obliging and all areas of the hotel were pleasantly furnished. For the money i think is a very good hotel and everything is on the doorstep and the famous Dukes is not far away for good old Mai Tai. Mahalo!!

Room Tip: High floor

This was our first time staying at the Hilton Waikiki and I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It’s a perfect location to everything and for everyone especially someone with a young child like mine. The beach is about 1 ½ blocks from the hotel. The Zoo is a few blocks which is an easy walk with stroller. The ABC store is across the street (pretty much every corner) and lots of stores for shopping and lots of good restaurants in walking distance.
When we first arrived we were greeted with a smile and was upgraded to an ocean view room. Breathe taking, however there is another hotel in front blocking the beautiful sunset. I guess that gave us a great reason to go down to the beach and watch it there. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating and so helpful. Especially all the staff members in the Executive Lounge (Ester, who made my son laugh, Lawrence who was always helpful and Travis who gave us great recommendation for things to do and places to eat). They were all so friendly and Thomas, the General Manager was so accommodating and was a pleasure to speak to. Lilly who cleaned our room is such a hard worker and so sweet. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the staff and the hotel. How can I forget about Mac 24/7 and Brett the manager who was so sweet and also very accommodating? My husband liked the food so much that he ordered the Mahi Mahi Burritos 3 times in a row and wanted to eat there every day.
Overall this is one of the best hotel in every category and we plan on coming back. Thank you Thomas for making our stay so memorable and we look forward to seeing you next year. Mahalo!!!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are the best!

This was our first visit to Waikiki and after much research we decided on the Hilton. The hotel was absolutely fabulous! Perfect and has everything you need.

Upon arrival there was a little wait to check in, nothing to complain about. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Chad (at the front desk) actually remembered our surname and room number everyday when we went down to borrow beach towels.

The rooms are very clean and tidy with great amenities and housekeeping does a great job.

The location of the hotel itself is pretty convenient. It's about one block from the beach (5-10 min walk). There are a few car parks around which is good as the parking at the hotel is a little expensive. We ended up parking at the Honolulu Zoo car park which was very cheap, and about a 5 mins walk.

Great hotel, fantastic trip!
