Loved the setting of this midcentury sushi garden. We tried a number of the dishes, on 2 occasions, and all were delicious. The owners were also nice. They have created a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy some great food.

The Ahi Poke Bowl was delicious, great flavors (about $14). We also ordered the Teriyaki Beef entrée (about $14), which was okay, but the portion was pretty small and nothing to write home about. We would have gotten more of the Poke Bowls. The place is a small, hole in the wall eclectic place with outdoor seating, the owner was fun. We would go back.

Don't be put off by the old hotel entrance on Beach Walk. Pass by all the tourists in the ubiquitous Hard Rock Café and look for the signs to the tiny the Hawaiiana Café. This is a personal space with kitschy decorations that look like they've been there since the 60s and you'll likely to served by Cliff, the owner. I have the highest recommendations for the Poke salad. About a 1/2 pound of fresh raw Ahi Tuna marinated with soy sauce and seaweed, then served over a bed of mixed greens with a sesame seed dressing. Poke is a traditional favorite in the islands, and you won't find any better. Our sushi selections were fine, fresh and reasonably priced.

Looking for that off-beat place with great food? Try this one.

We ate here for dinner one night with our whole party (5 adults and 4 kids) and it was fantastic. It's a tiny restaurant, probably geared more for take out than dining in, but the owner set up a table outside for all of us. We had the beef donburi, kimchee fried rice, chirashi, garlic shrimp, fried mandoo, the spicy and shoyu poki, chicken donburi, and various sushi. Everything was excellent, except the shrimp which was ok but maybe a bit overlooked. The poki and mandoo were phenomenal!! The owner was a very friendly, entertaining guy and we will definitely be coming back here again.

Made reservations for 6, they set up a special table for us outside. It was great. The waiter was a great, silly & friendly guy who threw our plates to us frisbee style :)
We ordered fried mandoo, edemame, seaweed salad and miso soup to start. FANTASTIC!
Our meals consisted of dinner bento, Wakamwe Udon, rainbow roll, beef donburi & a Dynamite roll. Everything was wonderful. Service was fast & friendly.
Very small place, off the strip so no noise from the street, yet close enough to walk to from our hotel which was across from Waikiki beach.
Our best meal in town yet!
Highly recommend!!
