Great spot just far enough away from central Waikiki. Moer used by the locals rather than the touirists. Close to Hau Tree Lanai - so have Brunch there and then some sun (don't forget the screen ) and a swim. Walk down to the Natatorium where Duke Kahanamoku swam. Walk down towards Diamond Head and note the Outrigger Canoe Club - private domain for members only, a bastion of the privileged few. Try this and many of the other beaches around the island. There is more to it than just Waikiki.

This is a nice beach closed to the Waikiki Aquarium. It is good for small kids because the beach is smaller and closed in by buildings. The waves are usually small unless there is a south swell. There is a lifeguard on duty here.

We were invited by our Hawaiian friends to go to a babies 1 yr birthday party here, lots of Hawaiian friends BBQing under beach shelters and enjoying a few cold beers, kids playing football on the beach, was alot of fun!

This is without doubt the best beach in Waikiki. It is absolutely safe and well protected by the reef. If you stay at the Kaimana Beach Hotel you have direct access. Give it a go!
