Description: Welcome to Il Lupino Trattoria and Wine Bar, created by famed New York restaurateur Wolfgang Zwiener, serving delicious, authentic Italian cuisine in a relaxing, yet sophisticated atmosphere, featuring indoor and outdoor bar and dining and a Salumeria featuring imported Italian cheeses, hand-cut meats that pair superbly with our wines by the glass list. While growing up in Europe, Wolfgang Zwiener discovered his passion for true Italian cuisine. In Italy, the locals would affectionately call him "Il Lupino", meaning "Little Wolf". It became his dream to open an Italian restaurant that would offer all his favorite dishes from Italy. That dream came to fruition in December 24th, 2010, when Wolfgang and his son, Peter, proudly opened their flagship Il Lupino Trattoria and Wine Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Center, in the heart of Waikiki. They hope you will enjoy the delicious Italian food created with love, dedication and passion. You might even meet Wolfgang himself in the restaurant while you are visiting. Pasta is prepared daily fresh and all our product comes directly from the Island. Lustful creations incorporating the fresh local seasonal produce, imported Italian cheeses, hand-cut meats and a variety of seafood accented with hand-made pastas. Our team is committed to exceeding expectations as they delight and satisfy while creating a memorable dining experience. Featuring wines from around the world our award winning selections enhance our cuisine and your experience. Focused primarily on Italian and Domestic selections we have something for every wine enthusiast!

“Great Food and service.”
Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

A wide variety of wines, antipasto, salads, appetizers and main dishes. Attentive service from the moment you enter till you leave. An outdoor courtyard surrounded by palm trees and lit tiki torches at night. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner here while in Honolulu, Waikiki and would definitely return. You won't be disappointed.

“Delicious! A hidden gem in Waikiki”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

We dined here after looking for an italian wine bar and restaurant in Waikiki and were very impressed. We made a reservation. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The restaurant is a little hidden off the main street (its tucked in on the beach side of the Royal Hawaiian Center so your better to be allow yourself a little time to find it). The wine list is huge which is what you expect from a wine bar and the food was delicious. My husband and I shared the home made tagliatelle and an antipasto board (3 meats and 3 cheeses - boy, this was my favourite!!!). We then shared the white chocolate panna cotta (devine!!) for dessert. The price is very reasonable for such quality food so we will definately return when next in Waikiki.

“Gnocchi not so good”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

On a friend's recommendation of her great meal of a few years ago, we went for a late dinner. The gnocchi was light and pillowy but the taste was awful. It had the flavour of uncooked potato that even the truffle cream sauce could not help. Don't get me wrong. i know gnocchi and good this was not. Interestingly, it had been our server's recommendation. i had a couple bites of my husband's pasta (the sausage was very chewy) and was also not impressed.

“Christmas Day Delicious”
Reviewed January 25, 2014 via mobile

We chose to have Christmas Day dinner at il Lupino and were delighted with a wonderful meal. The bread was freshly baked, soft and yummy. I ordered the pappardelle pasta with rabbit ragu which was super tender with a large amount of meat. My husband and son also ordered pasta dishes and were pleased with the quality. Prices are a little higher than you might expect to pay on the mainland but are reasonable for a Waikiki location.

“Really good Italian food”
Reviewed January 18, 2014 via mobile

After a few weeks of travelling around North America, we stumbled across this restaurant in the royal Hawaiian shopping centre. We went in here because it looked like it offered something different. It did - really tasty Italian food, that included home made pasta and authentic Italian pizza. Nothing mass produced here. We went with two kids and shared 2 pizzas and 2 pasta dishes - kids loved it!
