If you're looking for a challenge... Try this! It is a beautiful view once you reach the top. Getting there might take you as little as 30 minutes if you're in shape... If not... well, it could take a while :) and don't forget the water!!

The perfect hike to see an amazing view of Ohau. Once reaching the top you see a breath taking view and pictures worth taking and enjoying for years to come.

Fairly undeveloped area trails are good. Remember to have good walking shoes and plenty of water. Also slather up the sun screen as it takes a while to get there.

This hike is a knee buster...so many stairs...but such a fabulous view at the top. Bring water and snacks. Wear a hat as there is NO shade or protection from an unrelenting Hawaiian sun. And pack a few Advil for the day after. When you make it to the top, you know you've done something. And be prepared for sore thighs and knees in the days after the hike.

I read the reviews here and decided to try this. Easy drive from Waikiki if u have a rental car. Go to Koko Head Park and park near the end of the parking lot near the baseball diamond. Take the path towards the mountain and start climbing those stairs all 1048 of them. Bring lots of water and go to the restroom at the park before u go. One bottle of water is not enough. Take lots of breaks going up and u will make it. There were 70 year olds walking up it but don't be fooled it's pretty difficult. Doesn't cost anything to walk or park. Worth trying and a good accomplishment to say you have done the hike.
