We just drove pass the King Kamehameha Statue, it's a really awesome statue. We didn't go into the building at all. There's lots of people waiting in line to take a photo of the statue, but it's worth it.

“Standard Honolulu Attraction”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

If you're in Honolulu you'll have to take a picture of this quintessential Honolulu attraction. It looks just like all the pictures that youve seen of it, so don't expect anything new. Parking is a bit scarce in the area, and don't for get to feed the meter when you find a spot.

A quick stop at this place is recommended. I do enjoyed the story our tour guide told about King Kamehameka. By the way, this is a good place to use restroom inside the Supreme Court behind the statue.

“Statue of King Kamehameka 1”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

First I would like to clear up something written by bigb67. The Ststue of King Kamehameka 1 is not ouside of the palace, I'olani palace is across the street from the statue. The building behing the statue is Ali i'olina Hale originally to be the home of King Kamehameka V, Today it houses the Hawaii State Supream Court. It is a must see when in downtown Honolulu, and you may have to wait your turn for a picture. I'OLANI PALACE across the street was the home of Hawaii's last reining monarch Queen Lydia Lili'uokalani, and is the only palace on U.S. soil.
