Owner description: In front of the Aliiolani Hale building is the King Kamehameha I Statue. Facing Iolani Palace on the corner of King and Mililani streets, this landmark depiction of the warrior king who united the Hawaiian Islands emits a sense of strength and unity as he stands with outstretched arms.

It just looks so cool, and has so much atmosphere. It looks just like on Hawaii 5-O, but is worth seeing in real life to get more of a feel for the history.

Whether you are a Fan of the new Hawaii Five O or a History Buff, you have to get a photo before leaving the island. Show some respect to the King, enjoy the afternoon, and have a Hawaiian Dog nearby. The 'lolani Palace is across the street and those who remember the old Hawaii Five O series will remember this building. Also a great place to "soak up" some History. Mahalo

We are huge Hawaii Five-0 fans, the statue is featured in many an episode so naturally we were drawn to the opportunity to stop by and get a photo next to the iconic statue. On the sidewalk next to the building behind the statue we also grabbed a Hawaiian Hot Dog...good stuff. Right across the street is the Iolani Palace too, makes for a lovely afternoon.

Even if you are not planning on visiting Honolulu, easy to drive past on a Saturday morning, photos for the kids- done? It is what it is.
