Stayed here and enjoyed the beauty and lack of crowds. Great bar and snack place. Great for the sunsets and Friday fireworks viewing.

Right next to this park is the wonderful Steak Shack which is highly rated. Many other choices for food too. Not too far on the beach is the Hilton Hawaiian Village where Sunday worship services are held at 10:30AM. The service has seating under a tent and beautiful palm trees.

This is a Military Base, we shopped at the Exchange which used to be better priced. While there is no tax, the prices are about the same as regular stores any more, whereas they used to be about half price of most stores, and tends to be the same on.....on the mainland. My husband is retired military so we have access to this facility. It was a little difficult to find, being tucked away within the park/base area and the Hale Koa Military Hotel area. Beautiful setting though.

This spot, part of the military hotel at Hale Koa, as spacious, green, and shady. There is a terrific beach and nice picnic tables in the park. Away from the crowds at the west end of Waikiki, it is worth a hike down the beach if you are not staying at the Hale Koa or the Hilton.
