“Great place for a BBQ”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

I love coming here too have a bbq since the condo I stay in does not allow them. Very shady, nice q's, and a great view of the ocean. We did azeka rib style last time and got comments from the locals like "Eating like a local?". Slow down, don't eat out one night and head to fort derussey for a q.

“Awesome Park and Beach!”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

A really nice park to hang out in and right next to the beach. Lots of trees to give you some shade from the sun. The museum is really cool with a helicopter on the roof and tanks in front of the building.

“Spent most of my days here!”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

I love this beach. It was crowded, but nothing unbearable. We rented chairs and always had a good spot. Very relaxing and peaceful. The waves are calm and makes for great pictures.

“This beach was better than Waikiki”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We started walking the beach near the the lagoon behind the Hilton Hawaiian Village and all the beach areas are connected to each other. Even though Fort DeRussy is a military base, anyone can access the park and beach. The park has a volleyball area as well as grilling and picnic areas. The beach area is gorgeous and the sand is soft to walk in. This stretch of beachfront is not nearly as congested as Waikiki, which is right next door and even though it is not as famous, it is actually more enjoyable.
