“Great Location on Wakiki Beach”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

Located in the heart of the Wakiki Beach area, Fort DeRussy is the Army's contribution for recreation in the area. The beach is superb and the grounds well maintained.

“Recreation”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

We walked along the beach and across the park to access the US Army Museum. There was plenty of sporting activities being carried out, even in the heat of the day.

We spent last Saturday afternoon on this pristine strecth of beach right in Waikiki near the Outrigger Reff Hotel, Hale Koa Hotel and the Hilton Hawaiian Village... lot's to do and see with a beverage stand on the beach too!

“A beautiful spot in the middle of Waikiki”
Reviewed April 13, 2012

When the kids are restless, take the football or frizbee and have an impromptu game on the large expanse of lawn. There is plenty of area to let them run amidst beautiful gardens with plenty of shade too. Our hotel overlooked this park and it was a delight to sit on our balcony and look out over the manicured, yet well used gardens, then futher out to the beautiful ocean. There is never a time of day someone is not enjoying it from Tai Chi early morning to kids and dads playing soccer and locals walking their dogs. We also went to the Easter Service at the Fort DeRussy Chapel. It was very special and the local folk welcomed all of the visitors heartily. Don't forget to also spend an hour or so at the Army Museum. It is free and they ask for a donation. Very interesting and easy to access.
