“Try the Seafood Tan tan”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

When I'm in Honolulu, this is one of my favorites spots. Food comes quick and they 're always pleasant. After several visits, they know what I like: Seafood Tan Tan extra extra spicy. What a treat. The broth is delicious, good sized portions and priced right. When it comes to eating out, the food and service must go hand in hand. If the food is good but service is bad, won't spend $$$ there. Likewise, if service is great but food is not, won't be back. Goma Tei Ramen doesn't disappoint and the service keeps us coming back again and again.

This place is at the Ward Center with ample free parking. It's clean and servers are attentive. They seem to hire the right people. Great place to stop by before or after the movies, shopping or when you crave superb ramen.

“Happy surprise”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Returned to Honolulu after many years to discover new styles of restaurants. 10 years ago one went to a Chinese restaurant for noodles. Saimin stands offered small bowls of plain soup noodles topped with a little green onion and maybe a slice or two of dry, red char siu. The char siu at Goma Tei is made of thin flank, rolled and roasted until the fat and connective tissue melt to butter. The char siu ramen is covered with three generous slices. The tan tan stock is rich and spicy, It was a full meal and completely different from anything else I've had in Honolulu. We went at 3 pm to avoid the crowds and got a table immediately. Will definitely go pack to try some of the other options

“One of our regular lunch spots”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

I have never had ramen so good in a mall. You almost forget you are in a shopping center, in fact a couple times we craved Goma and just came to the mall to eat here, and left right after. It was that tasty. Every single time! Portions are large, so be sure to be hungry. And washing it down with a beer is a must. The broth is probably a trade secret, because it is delicious! And yes, there is usually a wait. Just put your name on the sign up sheet outside and wait for your name to be called. The turn-around is very fast. And if you don't pay attention when the names are called they will cross your name off and move on. P.S. just because you are down on the list doesn't mean that the order you will be called in. So stand by. Don't miss out. And be sure to go to Goma for ramen. The chicken is my #1. And share a side of gyoza- be sure to add some of their spicy red oil to the side sauce- just to kick it up a notch. By the last time I ate here I was adding 50/50 of the pepper oil to the sauce. LOVE IT!

“Am I back in Okinawa japan?”
Reviewed December 4, 2013 via mobile

Stopped by the mall for lunch after picking up Marathon bib number and swag bag. I figured my wife Lanie was ready for some ramen as this is a common weekend outing for us back at our current assignment home. The food was just like being back in Japan. Delicious with a kick of spice in my soup and my wife gave the thumbs up on her bowl.
