It was raining and we happened to be passing by the museum, so we went in to see what it's all about. My husband enjoys military history so I didn't mind going, but was less enthusiastic than he was. My interest, however, increased quickly due to the thorough displays, models, and artifacts. I actually really enjoyed the sections about Pearl Harbor, which alone made my visit worthwhile. The overview of Hawaii's military history was impressive and interesting. There was also a historian on the site who has written several books and he was enjoyable to talk with. We didn't watch the video as it was crowded. The gift shop was nice with a fairly large selection and variety of items. We were there for about an hour and saw most everything (except for video).
