Went on this tour that was included in the Passport to Pearl Harbor. The audio tour that is included is great. One of the old captains of the Bowfin tells you all about the inner workings of the sub and the missions this specific ship was on. This was a great tour and a great way to end our day in Pearl Harbor.

It was nice to be able to see a submarine so well preserved. There is little ceiling height so be prepared to squeeze thru all the hatches. The hardware inside is fascinating for the time when the sub was built.

This is a must do if you are here, a great history and very interesting. The USS Bowfinn is an absolute must do with the Audio tour (not normally my thing..but made it come alive)

This is a very well presented and preserved example of a WWII submarine. The care and love represented by its condition is impressive.
Even with the well done job of presenting the boat to visitors, I still can't imagine what it was like to be at sea, and at war, on such a small vessel. These boats were manned by very brave young men.
The one negative we experienced was a very bored, rude and abrupt docent who obviously wanted to be anywhere but on the boat. I wanted to tell here to get a job she enjoyed but decided to ignore her and not let it ruin the visit. Hopefully you have a better docent experience.

Be sure to use the audio guided tour as you tour around the submarine; it is well worth it. The commentary from veterans as well as history and information about the craft. You will need to be reasonably mobile as some of the areas are small.
