I honestly think that a trip to Don Quijote and Walmart in Honolulu is a great little sidetrip while in Honolulu. You can get your souveniers or simply peruse the offerings and compare the two stores while watching for the aspects of the stores unique to Hawaii. I think of Don Quijote as a kind of Walmart for Asian shoppers/tourists and you can find alot of great Japanese goods you won't find anywhere else and at great prices. Need a nice rice paddle? You'll find it here. New bento box? You'll find it here. You can also get your souveniers (tshirts, kona coffee, macadamia nuts, etc.) here at great prices.
